This is the second year I’m going to use these UV lamps for an enclosed exterior application. Helps that they come in pairs because last year I went through two of them, on average they work continuously for about three months each before they burn out. They arrived chipped both times, as it appears the recessed bottom padding in the box is insufficient to keep them intact during deliveries and I see this in other reviews as well. I write this off as seasonal expense but would be nice if they lasted longer than a few months in our cold NE climate. I will research temperature control means to see if that can help during occasional daytime warmings, to see if that can prolong the life of these bulbs by limiting any overheating (which should be built-in in this type of device for safety). US/ Canada users also note that these are not UL listed. ... show more

One heat lamp was needed, second was a spare, second was broken within the package due to not being installed into the box slots as designed. They won't replace one without returning the whole order which takes too long, snow is already here and I have cats and food/water to keep from freezing so I have to accept being screwed. Company's distancing themselves from customers is wrong and not in the best interests of customer relations. Lamp is warm enough being in an outdoor cat shelter (large-ish) so I am having none of the "too hot" issues others seem to be experiencing. ... show more
