  • Good item but it could have been made better

I git this to build with my kids, I figured it would get them away from roblox atleast for a little while lol. However its ok product but quality is not there and it makes it a challenge to get it all together. Its a good educational build and good value for the money, just wish it was better quality. ... show more

  • Cool idea, but tricky to use
Color: 12in1-grey
This kit has a lot of potential with 12 robot designs and a solar-powered feature that’s meant to be educational and fun. The variety is great, and it’s definitely a creative STEM activity for kids. However, the instructions can be confusing, even for adults. Some parts are really small and difficult to snap together, so it takes a lot of patience and focus. Not ideal for younger kids working alone. The solar panel only works in strong, direct sunlight — indoor lighting or cloudy days don’t give it enough power to move, which was disappointing. Using a lamp helped a little, but it’s not consistent. A fun concept overall, just not as smooth or easy to use as expected ... show more

This is a neat idea, but it is poorly executed. I would have paid an extra few dollars so that we didn’t have to punch out each little piece from plastic mold sheets. You have to use sharp pliers/wire cutters to remove them. The pieces are very scratchy/sharp upon removal and you have to use a file on each of the areas that were attached to the mold sheet...that is a LOT of filing. The plastic boat bottom was very challenging to assemble and impossible for the plastic to move in the directions necessary for assembly without cracking the plastic. Once all of the pieces were removed from the molds, filed and put into coded bags we were then ready to assemble 😥. My son and husband worked on putting their first robot together, and found that the rolling robot keeps losing pieces and consequently stops moving. Furthermore, it only works when in direct sunlight. I was under the impression that it could charge in the sun and then be used for a short span of time. Upstate NY does not have much sun, so this toy can be used in very limited windows of time when the weather is just right and only during daytime. We have a grow light for my lemon tree and tried using that and bright LED lights to no avail. If the toy is left on a surface (because...kids) when it’s dark and later that surface is in sunlight, at a particular time, the sunlight triggers it to move and it can fall on the floor and break apart. I would NOT recommend. The entire toy/concept needs re-engineering. ... show more
