  • Tangled on Spool
Did a few simple prints and the color and shine is really nice. I printed toward the low end of the recommended temperature range (200C) and it bridges well too. One minor complaint is that it seems to print a bit fat, meaning that a thin 2mm wall that would have a small gap with regular PLA ends up looking like 100% infill with this filament. Another minor complaint is that it is more brittle than regular PLA. But my big complaint is that I have had multiple instances in which the filament is jammed against the end of the spool and has a hard time unspooling, and in one case I had to stop the print and untangle the roll (it was literally wrapped under itself and I had to cut it and fish it through). Very disappointing, and for that reason I don't think I'd buy it again. ... show more

  • Color is great but it messes up easily
Silk filament messes up so easily. This one was especially hard to accommodate for. If you start having layers that seem like they aren’t sticking, increase the temperature by about 10 and lower the retraction distance by a lot. I turned my retraction off but that’s not always an option

  • Phew! No stench!
I feel copper colored filament makes for the most attractive "metal looking" FDM 3D prints when compared to other filaments that mimic metal, such as silver or gold. The problem is, about half of the copper colored filaments I've tried from different manufacturers release horrible odors during the printing process! I am happy to say this filament is one that does not stink. It's being run through my Artillery Sidewinder X1, which is off to my right as I'm writing this review. I've also been sitting at my laptop with the printer running for just over a half hour, and I haven't smelled any odors! I haven't used much of this filament, but I haven't had any issues with it yet. No clogging, prints have stuck well to the build plate, and layers adhere well to themselves. I do run silk PLA at higher temperatures in the hot end than standard PLA. I have three different 3D printers, and as a rough rule of thumb, I run PLA on all of them at 200 Celsius, +/- 10 degrees C. With silk PLA, I run it at around 225-230 C, again +/- 10 degrees C. For build plate temperatures, I only run the silk filament a few degrees hotter or at the same temperature as standard PLA. These temperatures are what's worked best for me. Your mileage may vary depending on your printer, environment, and so on. If I encounter problems with this filament, I'll update this review. But as of right now, I'm happy with this filament and would buy it again if I need more silk copper colored filament. ... show more

  • Fantastic prints
I've used the copper, gold and silver colored filaments and all of them look fantastic. Can be a little tricky getting the adhesion but once you have it then prepare for great looking prints.

  • Noob who is very happy with product A++
So to start, my first prints were from PLA+ Inland brand and i had constant warping on anything flat regardless of heat range. My first print with this PLA and its flawless, literally. Again no expert, rather a know nothing noob next to my friend google. My coffee mats are perfect no flaws and sheen looks like a copper ribbon cable( see pic). Very nice. My settings: Tip : 200c Bed : 57c Room temp : 66c Speed :100% Printer : ender 3 v2 3 HUGE tips: - use blue masking tape (even on glass beds) - use hairspray over that and let dry - level your bed perfectly so your beads dont look round but rather flat but not thinly wiped across bed just flat on top of bead like an upside down flat tire i guess. ... show more

  • Not very durable
I have tried this roll multiple times and have tried to dry it multiple times and it prints and doesn’t look bad but as soon as I take it off the build plate it just starts to fall apart. I don’t know if I just got a bad roll or something I know silk pla is not as durable as regular pla but the others I’ve tried have never had this issue. ... show more
