Safe dehumidifier

So far, so good! It seems to be doing it’s job. The beads have started to turn green after several weeks. Will be “ renewing it “ by putting in the oven soon. Will update review afterwards.

Excellent when used properly!

This desiccant can is awesome when used properly. It is NOT for dehumidifying a living space, buy an electric dehumidifier for that. It is for gun, electrical, filament storage cabinets. The view window is NOT plastic. Seriously, I wish people wouldn't spread false information. I use this product in a vacuum chamber to absorb residual moisture. It works well, but does not have the same surface area as the smaller tubes. It is better to have multiple smaller tube desiccants from this company due to surface area. If extreme drying is needed, back fill your chamber with dry nitrogen first and then let this device absorb residual moisture.

Great product, but needs to be shipped in individual boxes!

Nicely made product, and I really like that it does not contain Cobalt II Chloride (since you recharge this type product in your oven)! Once it needs recharging, I’ll know how ‘oven proof’ the clear ‘window’ into the canister is, and whether it stays clear or not. The manufacturer says it’s good for ‘1000 degrees’, and I take them at their word! I’ve already reordered two more for my gun safes and other cabinets...looks to be a great value! Update: Received the additional two canisters, one of which was badly dented in shipping...they need individual boxing to better protect them!

Almost had a big mess

Top and bottom panels was separated from mesh screen. I went to pick it up out of the box and almost dumped the beads everywhere… I ended up having to reattach the top and bottom myself before the beads went everywhere!

Works good in the Safe.

The silica beads went for about a month before turning green (from orange) - so I recharged them in the oven for 3 hours at 300 degrees (TAKE OFF THE PLASTIC WINDOW FIRST AT THE TOP). It kept my safe about 30-35% humidity. That's not perfect - but the safe is near a bathroom with a lot of humidity in the pacific NW. So, that is acceptable to me. Got to do something.. This works since I don't have the internal heater thing.
