The media could not be loaded. This machine works great. Very simple to use, and the program that comes with it is user-friendly! Lots of videos on YouTube on how it works. But the best way to learn is to just use it! It is loud, but cuts all the vinyl that I have been using and sticker paper as well. I've included a video of it cutting metallic vinyl. It's quick. It's lightweight and not too big- even though I went with the plus to get the extra inches. Can't wait to use it more! ... show more

La compré para hacer etiquetas, cortar stickers y otros detalles para mis productos, y trabaja muy bien. Los cortes salen precisos y el tamaño del mat me permite trabajar piezas más grandes sin problema. The media could not be loaded. An absolutely wonderful device with limitless possibilities! You can purchase blades and attachments for different materials. With it, I can cut materials such as paper, cardstock, vinyl (including heat transfer vinyl), fabric, felt, leather, foam board, and other dense materials. The Cameo 4+ also features a built-in roll feeder, allowing you to work with vinyl or other roll materials without using a cutting mat. For cutting, you can use the AutoBlade (included), which automatically adjusts to the type of material. It connects via USB or Bluetooth, which is very convenient when you want to avoid extra cables. You can perform contour cutting (Print & Cut), and there are additional tools available for embossing, drawing, and creating textured patterns. This model is perfect for both beginners and professionals involved in designing, creating stickers, cards, decorations, clothing with prints, and much more! ... show more

    • Love It Now, But Learning Curves Ahead!
Pros: The new autoblade in Cameo 4 Plus is fantastic. The higher speed is welcome. The increased cutting pressure is also welcome, but you may inadvertently ruin material getting used to it. Test cut first! The settings and tools in Silhouette Studio Business are worth the investment if you want to step out of the simplest editing and cutting. (Check Swing Design’s website for sales on gift cards and upgrades. I bought gift cards on sale, then used them to buy the upgrades on sale.) I like the wider cutting width, but it is NOT a full 15”, more like 14.5”. That’s not a huge amount, but if you’re cutting multiple small stickers or names, that’s a whole extra row! It took a while to get used to the Cameo 4, and now I like it, but I had to mess up a lot to get there. I cut through my included mat, for instance, because I had the depth set too deep. Cons: Carriage 2 is the extra-height carriage for cutting thicker materials. The description doesn’t make this clear. The cb09 blades and holder only fit in carriage 1, because the carriages and tools each have different shapes. The cb09 holder hangs low in carriage 1, so you lose the advantage of having a blade that cuts deeper. At the time of this review, there’s no adapter or blade holder that fits carriage 2. You can use Nicapa mats with this Cameo, but they are almost twice as thick as OEM Silhouette mats. I get much better results with OEM mats. Conclusion: The learning curve was so steep at first I was thinking I’d made a terrible mistake upgrading, but once I got the hang of this machine, I was happy. Having a higher speed and more pressure is GREAT. Take in the tutorials at Swing Design and on YouTube, and take the scraps you’ve been saving and sacrifice them in the pursuit of learning. ... show more

    • Fast, capable machine but you're on your own
My Cameo 4 Plus arrived today. I had some misgivings about purchasing it: At least one reviewer stated that it would not work with the Mac. My question about Silhouette Connect (an Adobe Illustrator plugin) compatibility went unanswered, so I ordered the Cameo 4 Plus and crossed my fingers. Here's the good news: the Cameo 4 works fine with the Mac (I'm running High Sierra) and also with Silhouette Connect with Illustrator 2020. This new model is very fast compared to the original Cameo Silhouette (which I've been using to cut paper and fabric since 2013). Now for the not so good news: The Cameo 4 Plus ships with absolutely NO user manual and no user manual seems to be available on the web. There are a few help files online, but the information provided is very minimal. For example: Under the AutoBlade for the Cameo 4, users are told that it functions in a manner very similar to the previous version. That's about it! As for adjusting the rollers for 12" x 12" mats, I had to guess about the correct position. I'm quite sure that the Cameo 4, with it's specialty blades and vastly increased force, will be wonderful to use once I figure it out. This is my third digital cutter, so I'm capable of making pretty good guesses about what to do and how to test cut materials. However, Silhouette of America really should provide a basic downloadable PDF user manual with labeled diagrams, suggested blade choices and settings and a troubleshooting section.
