Great wet/dry vac from Dewalt. I have only used it to vacuum a 2015 Jeep Rubicon which has not been vacuumed in about a year - you can imagine the amount of grass/dirt in the carpet, and after about 15 minutes of use the carpets looked amazing once again. This unit has great suction, a long 20 foot power cord, a few attachments and a couple of extension wands. I love the 10 gallon size and the noise level is very satisfactory. I've only just now received this vac and am surprised that it's my favorite vac ever. I like the size, 10 gallon, and it's power and it is very quite for a bis vac. The only problem I've found is the hose. It's that plastic junk. I need to find a replacement. Thas it for now.

    • A very good shop vac with a few frustrations
This is a very good shop vac. It sucks and filters well, well built, and well sealed container. Downsides are the wheels and accessory storage. The wheels/casters won't even roll over it's own power cord which is very frustrating that it gets stopped in movement by not even being able to roll over it's own cord. Second frustration is the tool storage bin, as it doesn't hold the rigid pipe extensions well, and won't when they are connected together. Plus all of the black accessory attachments get lost in the black bag. I wish it had attachment places for each of the accessories and places for the rigid pipe extensions to push into the top of the wheel bases so they would have their own place and not continually fall out. ... show more

I don't use this shop vac heavily but it's been cleaning up the saw dust in my shop for 2 years now. I originally purchased this model because of the low noise feature and I appreciate that every time I use it.

    • Great vacuum but poor support from Dewalt
I love this vacuum but if I were to do it all over again, I would go to Home Depot and buy a Rigid, for a couple reasons: 1. Rigid also sells an OSHA approved filter kit. Dewalt also sells a higher quality filter and dust bags, but the Rigid kit is cheap and convenient. 2. Dewalt will refer you to a third party company called Alton Industries if you contact Dewalt customer service regarding this vacuum. I had asked Dewalt about connecting this vacuum to other Dewalt tools via Dewalt's universal dust collection system. I'm not sure if it is just this particular vacuum, or if Dewalt would refer to Alton for all shop vac related questions? Not sure but very weird and feeling pretty dissatisfied with the support from Dewalt on this one. ... show more

I previously purchased a wet/dry vac from the company whose name is basically synonymous with the tool... it broke just after the warranty expired. My general policy with tools is that if I break one, spring for a quality model. I bought the DXV10P and have not been disappointed. The build quality on this thing is outstanding compared to the previous junk I had. All of the parts are heavy duty ABS plastic and fit together with no gaps, rattles, or play. The on/off rocker switch is enormous and easy to hit with the tip of the hose when it's out of your reach. The hose has a security clamp anchoring it to the vacuum. The unit rolls on heavy duty swivel casters that spin and rotate smoothly without binding. The cord is long enough that you don't need an extension for use around the house. The body has a strap for the hose and a carrying handle that is more than capable of supporting the weight of the entire kit. Attachments come with your purchase, as well as an on-board bag to hold them in. The narrowest attachment has a slice down the side to help prevent overheating the motor if you pass the tip over something that can't fit through the nozzle and gets stuck. Suction is great - around the house I am always impressed with how much this thing wants to catch itself on. Coming from a piece of junk, I am thrilled with this thing every time I use it. The only nitpicks I can think of: - it's bulky and fairly heavy. It's a 10-gallon model so this is part of the description - just something to be aware of if space is at a premium, or you have multiple floors to your home or shop. The handle and casters mitigate this somewhat - the cord is positioned at a weird angle. OK, I'm REALLLY reaching here, but I do find myself running over the cord with absurd frequency - doesn't come with hearing protection. It may or may not be quieter than it's competition (I stepped up in power, so I don't have a baseline to compare to), but it is a power tool that moves lots of air - it's going to be loud. Grab a cheap pair of shooting muffs and hang them on the handle or put them in the bag so you never forget to use them - in the long run, your ears will thank you ... show more

    • This DXV10P is great in so many ways.
This vacuum is quiet for a wet/dry vac. I love the 20" power cord. My old Shop-Vac brand vacuum hoses fit into the tank fitting but MOST of ALL the paper filter bags are interchangeable. The big round pleated filters are not interchangeable though. I much prefer a 1 1/2" hose because most of my work is doing sawdust and even though my hands are quite large it is more comfortable than holding the 1 7/8" solid extension tubes. Plenty of hoses on the market (including 12' long crushproof ones) to customize your vac. I also love the huge on/off switch. I have only used this DeWalt DXV10P for a week but the longer I use it the more I love it. The exhaust exits the unit in a horizontal fashion so you could blow dust behind you. If you want to blow the air upward, you can buy a 2" 45-degree PVC sch40 elbow and make one wrap of duct tape around the end for a tight fit. ... show more
