To be fair. Purchasing this cutter was a part of a master plan. And likely would not of been possible without it. Our hotel is constantly having to order custom printed and cut paper phone plates. I'm speaking about the informative background for the buttons on a hotel telephone. They are expensive to order, and take a while and can not be ordered one at a time. And they soil so easily! After using a vector art application (free Inkscape), I was able to print out perfect plates on waterproof card stock and able to include room numbers beautifully. With the same vector art application, I was able to map out the cuts for the phone buttons and the overall shape and import into Designer. A total win! My boss is impressed and I have a new toy for whatever else I want to dream up. :P Yes... I did have to purchase cutting mats. But that was in the brochure. ... show more

I used Veevor vinyl cutting machine with Signmaster software, so I was unsure about Cricut and their software. I am still learning all that this machine can do but what I have learned so far....why did I wait so long to buy it! I debated between the Explore 3 and the Maker and went with the Explore 3 because it does evertyhing I need for now and the price was much better. I've never owned a vinyl cutter before. So this is my first one. You'd think as a first time, I'd be more lenient on it since I have nothing to compare to. Nope. Here are the problems I have with this trash. 1. Windows connection problems. All day. Every day. Bluetooth fails to connect on my windows laptop. Connects for 2 seconds, then disconnects. Cannot reconnect. Have to delete and re-add device. After 10 tries, still won't stay connected. 2. Mac connection problems. Bluetooth connects to mac for about 10 seconds and the disconnects. OMG! 10 seconds! Better than the 2 seconds on a Windows device! Still can't reconnect. Have to delete and re-add device. After 3 attempts, it finally stays connected for no reason. No process was changed in that connection. 3. USB connection. A USB does not need "connection" other than physically plugging the cable in. Somehow the software has it spinning and waiting for the "connection" to the device. And somehow even after a few seconds of waiting, it fails to "connect". I'm sitting there stupidly unplugging and replugging USB cable. Oh, and the software keeps bugging me to switch to bluetooth and defaults to the bluetooth option while in the Make prompts. I would if bluetooth worked... 4. Calibration just doesn't work on Windows. After I load the printed calibration placed on the mat and I can see it get loaded by the cricut, that's it. Nothing happens after that. Wizard doesn't change, play button on cricut doesn't light up. Finally worked when it connects to a Mac 5. Looked up all these connection problems and you are told to remove all other bluetooth devices paired with your computer because it needs to be the only device in the paired devices list. This is not a solution. Asking us to disconnect all bluetooth devices is absurd. I've only just read about all the reddit discussions of people getting their devices bricked and Cricut support staff blatantly saying they will deactivate the device if they try to sell it. This is unacceptable. There are countless stories of people getting their devices bricked for simply just loaning to a friend. All of this R&D went into security just so they can force people to buy new devices from them but I CAN'T EVEN GET THE CONNECTION TO WORK. This is absolutely not how you make a product or run a business. Company is scum. ... show more

When i use it with my phone with bluetooth connection it keeps kicking me out and it doesn’t connect me when i have to do my next project and i have to turn it off and back on. Thats the problem it’s been giving me.
