  • The Silhouette Cameo 4 is the evolution in desktop cutting. The sleek Backlit touch panel lets you load, unload, and pause your projects in style. Conveniently stored in the machine's compact pull-out drawer is a new built in roll feeder for quickly cutting vinyl and heat transfer material directly from a roll. On the back of the Cameo 4 You will find a built in cross cutter allowing for a clean straight edge cut on your vinyl roll for your next project.
  • The unique dual carriage allows for Tool Type detection. The Cameos ultra-smart system uses tool sensor technology that detects what tool you are using which then triggers the Silhouette Studio software to adjust cut settings automatically. The Cameo 4 stands apart from previous models with the new dual motor system, which allows you to cut in two distinct ways. Carriage one provides the Cameo 4 with unparalleled speed. It is operated from a solenoid motor that gives smooth and intricate cuts.
  • The Cameo 4 carriage 2 boasts additional cutting force! With the increased downforce of the Cameo 4, we now offer a new rotary and Kraft blade (Sold separately) that have been specifically designed to operate with the Cameo smart tangential technology. With smart tangential technology the Cameo 4 cuts thicker material without sacrificing quality with each cut. The Cameo 4 offers true mat-less cutting which allows cutting cardstock, paper, and other materials without using a mat.
  • Cameo 4 can cut or sketch up to 3x faster than previous models without sacrificing accuracy. Carriage two is operated by an entirely different style of motor that allows for unprecedented power. The autoblade has been reconfigured especially for the Cameo 4. This second generation autoblade will have a single-tap reset which will reduce the time needed for the Cameo 4 to automatically adjust the blade setting for your project.

We purchased the Vinyl maker kit which came with the unit and whatevers in that box along with several other pieces which are shown in the picture. There was a huge fiasco (which we won't get into here) with shipping but I blame that on Amazon, not Silhouette. We've made a few stickers for a laptop and water bottle after watching some videos from TheRhinestoneWorld on YouTube. Look up "How to Make Your First Decal With the Silhouette Cameo 3" (the overall principles are the same if you're a total noobie to this). Their store has tons of great designs that are addictive to purchase. Everything is so cheap (and currently there is a sale) that its just easier and faster to peruse through and find something you love. You get a very generous credit to their store so you can purchase (for free) a ton of designs which get downloaded to your computer so you don't need to stay on line. I easily made a sticker design very quickly using the basic version of Silhouette Studio which is amazing by itself. If you use any Adobe Illustrator type software, you'll quickly be able to be productive making your own designs. I might consider upgrading to the higher versions since they're so cheap to unlock some more power user tools and maybe cut down on some workflow time. Like others, I compared this to competing manufacturers. I chose the Silhouette Cameo 4 because we have unreliable internet and I love how you can use this machine and its software fully without constant internet access. One thing I didn't like was that it was difficult to figure out which of the 3 guides to follow to get started, and some literature doesn't talk about the Cameo 4 (yet). Watching YouTube videos was helpful in this regard. I would recommend this device (and possibly others - I'm eyeing the 3d printer) from Silhouette. *****BEWARE OF SELLER***** I received my Cameo 4 couple of days ago. I opened up the machine that same night but couldn’t use it because I needed an adaptor since the USB cable they provided didn’t plug into my iMac laptop. The following morning I went and purchased the adaptor and used the cameo for the first time. From the first cut it was all bad. I was trying to print (from the silhouette program) a 3 letter phrase. The first word would cut but the second word would fail to cut enough for me to try to weed it out. Even the first word that did cut, was so hard to weed out. I’ve watched videos on this machine prior to ordering, receiving and using the machine so I wasn’t completely oblivious on how to operate the machine. When I tried, the HTV vinyl (that came with the machine) it would rip. I tried MULTIPLE settings. I tried everything I could. I watched YouTube videos, I searched the silhouette site to see what I was doing wrong. After wasting almost every sheet that came with the machine, I realized if it was a setting issue the first word wouldn’t cut either. I believe I have received a defective item so I called amazon. They mentioned I purchased from a 3rd party so they sent an email on my behalf and today (3rd day since I have received the machine) the seller responds back with this bs “ I am sorry you are having trouble with your machine. We recommend contacting Silhouette Customer service. They will be able to help you with any problems you may are having. Thank you.”. I would expect to get this response had my 30 days been up but on the 3rd day?! They didn’t try to help or anything. They took my $329 + tax and pawned me off on silhouette. EVEN SILHOUETTE DOESNT HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE # TO CALL! I emailed the company, so far no response. I will contact amazon to let them know this seller is unethical and dismissive. I won’t purchase from them again and highly advise you to avoid purchasing from them too. I will post pictures. If you look closely enough you will see what I mean. The machine is awesome, the tools, setup and all was great. The vinyl and transfer tape was absolutely trash, black gloss crumbles when cut on same setting the white gloss cut on. The transfer tape doesn’t transfer anything glossy or matte. Bundle kinda lost its value if I couldn’t even practice with the sample vinyl. ... show more

    • Trouble cutting
The silhouette 4 is easy to use, but I'm having trouble with it cutting through the vinyl. I've done everything recommended, and still having problems.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. She has absolutely loved it! Very satisfied with the purchase and it made her happy. She particularly enjoys paper crafting. It makes Percision cuts and is very simple to use.
