THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. If you have a Silhouette and are even considering purchasing the designer edition of the software, do it here. You will be spending almost $50 anywhere else, but here you can get it for almost half the cost. I have watched the price of this listing and it does change quite frequently. I think I paid around $28, but a week later when I was telling my sister in law about it, it was down to $24ish. There are quite a few Facebook groups dedicated to silhouette projects/questions/etc and people are constantly asking, "is it worth it?" or "where should I buy it?" My answer is always "AMAZON!!" The designer edition unlocks several tools that I have no idea how to use and several that make me so thankful that I bought it. The main feature I use is the "pattern fill" feature which allows you to fill a shape with what ever pattern you want. I make stickers for my planner (#plannergirl/#plannerlove/#erincondren/#lifeplanner), and I was just getting images from google and then cutting them into the desired shape but it would take hours!. While this feature alone makes it worth it to me, it also has a bunch of other features. It allows you to import more file types (.svg), gives you more manipulation tools, adds guides and rulers, advanced knife and eraser tools, rhinestone patterns, sketch patterns, and more. If you craft at all, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the designer edition. The only thing that may be a downside to ordering it here, is that you have to wait for the physical card in the mail rather than receiving the code via email. It is well worth the wait, I promise.

I purchased the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software a few months ago and I am really enjoying it. I was a little bummed that I had to wait to receive the physical card with the code on it instead of having instant digital access, but it really didn't take too long at all! Once I entered the code, the set up was fast and easy. The designer software seems a bit daunting to use at first, but there are many wonderful and helpful tutorials available online. I quickly learned how to operate it by watching various Youtube tutorials based on the project I was trying to accomplish. The designer edition software frees up your ability to create anything you dream of, you can even use the existing fonts on your computer or create cut files from photos! You have the ability to set your paper size, so you know that what you are cutting will fit within your perimeters just by looking at the screen. And the best part? There is a nesting feature that will automatically group your cut files closely together in order to save you some valuable material. I have used this software to design shirts for my family's upcoming trip to Disneyland (heat transfer vinyl and screen printing), glass etching, painted wood signs, etc. I have even created a large 1.5ftx3ft vinyl wall decal. I used to have a different brand of cutter, and I have to say, the Silhouette Cameo and the Designer Edition Software is so much better than having to go and purchase cartridges from the fabric store! Crafting is fun again!

If you have a Silhouette machine, you must have Designer Edition Software. Period. End of story! There are so many more options that open up with this software. You have more options with the eraser tool, a wide variety of sketch pens such as charcoal, pencil, scribble. There is also a shear tool to use if you need to cut off a part of a letter, or part of a design, you use this tool to shear the portion of the design you don't want. You can download SVG. (silhouette) files to your software from the internet which opens up infinate posssibilities! You have RULER options that you don't have with the origional silhouette program. The rulers really come in handy when trying to size your designs. You can also set your grid options. You can choose to have grid lines, the number of lines on the grid (every 1/8 inch, every inch, etc) or chose no grid lines for a white background plus many, many more options. Every day with this software is a new experience. Search the internet for facebook groups, internet blogs, videos, etc. to teach you how to use your machine and software. Silhouette School is a great place to start. Happy cutting!

The designer studio software is a definate step up from the regular silheoutee studio program. This allows you to be able to open all types of files you could possibly wAnt to. This opens up the world of png files. Ther are so many options available with this program. You are able to die cut anything you possibly could want to. You can get files from the silheoutte store, download them from another pay source, or even just do a google search. You won't have to purchase die cuts any longer. You can find anything to do any task you wish. I am amazed by all the abilities I have with this program. It is very useful.

I purchased this as an upgrade from the basic software a few days ago. I use Photoshop cc every day for work and I really missed things like guide lines and the rulers that I have in Photoshop. I was thrilled after my upgrade to see those in the Silhouette software too. I primarily purchased this because I own thousands of jpg/png clipart already and wanted to be able to import and trace them in Photoshop to expand my business into printed goods. It was very easy to do with this upgrade. This was sent to me as an actual card (shipped and fulfilled by Amazon) that had a scratch off number on the back. I just went into the Sihouette software (there are also instructions on the back of the card) and clicked the upgrade button. Entered my number sequence, name, email,etc. and clicked upgrade. It did it instantly. No downloading any new software or waiting. Super easy!
