    • Great Stools At A Great Price!

We purchased 4 of these great stools on Amazon Prime Day for the great price of $77 each (dark gray, 24-inch seat height). All 4 stools arrived in 2 days, well packed, and in perfect condition. These stools are made of solid wood and metal construction with a thick plastic like distressed barnwood coating/stain over all of the wood parts. The dark gray seats are covered in a smooth, thick cloth. All of the assembly bolts are high quality, and all of the bolt holes line up perfectly. All 4 legs are nearly the same length (within a couple of millimeters), and the stool does not wobble if the legs are adjusted properly during assembly. Assembly is easy, even with just one person doing it. I had all 4 stools built in a little over an hour and a half (including unpacking them). All 17 of the assembly bolts are blister packed and labeled, along with a 4mm, 5/32" Allen Wrench. I did not use the Allen Wrench, and used a 4mm Allen socket and a 3/8" ratchet instead, in order to speed up the assembly process. When attaching the legs, be sure not to over-tighten the bolts, as this will definitely warp and/or crack the leg support blocks. There should still be a slight gap between the leg and support block when properly assembled. Also, make sure to keep ALL of the leg bolts loose until final assembly, or the metal foot ring will "seem" to be too large of a circumference for the 4 legs. Once everything is assembled, then go back and tighten all of the leg bolts. The back rest requires a large Phillips screwdriver to install the 5 attaching bolts. Also, make sure to check the tightness of the 5 pre-installed bolts on the rear top of the back rest, as I found a few of them to be slightly loose. Once assembled, the stools are all great looking, wobble-free, and they swivel smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend these stools. They look great, and seem very sturdy and durable, but only time will tell on the overall durability aspects. If anyone is looking for some great bar or counter height stools, then look no further than these excellent stools. ... show more

The stool itself is phenomenal. Sturdy. Nice padding. Good height. Fine looking product. However, the instructions are wrong. DO NOT PUT THE LEGS ON FIRST. Instead, attach the steel ring to the legs and then put the legs on the seat. If you put the legs on first, the ring will not fit. Other than that, well worth the money. *EDIT - be mindful of stripped screws. If you get one, lightly use a hammer to tap it in further before tightening. ... show more

    • Heavy and Sturdy, But Color Off

These are quite heavy at almost 30 lbs per stool. As such, they also seem quite sturdily built. I have no doubts they will last for a long time, structurally at least. Assembly was quite simple once I got the hang of it, taking less than 10 minutes to do each stool after going through a bit of a learning curve on the first one. There is a note on the instructions that says not to tighten any bolts until all bolts have been started. I thought this meant you could tighten the bolts that fasten the legs to the base once all 4 legs were loosely attached. If you do that, though, the legs get pulled into a smaller overall circumference such that the diameter of the foot ring is then too big to connect to its bolts. Once I loosened the 8 leg bolts, I was then able to spread the legs out enough to get the foot ring attached. Once that's done, THEN you can go back and start systematically tightening the bolts for the legs AND the foot ring. So, do as the instructions say and don't tighten ANY bolts for the legs OR the foot ring until everything is loosely connected. Also pay attention to which bolts use the large washer and which ones use the small washer. The four bolts with the small washer are for the foot ring. You can't really use the wrong bolts for the foot ring because the large washer on the leg bolt won't fit into the recessed foot ring bolt hole anyway, however you CAN use the wrong bolt for the legs. All of the bolts are the same length, diameter and thread, and all use the same lock washer, so the only difference is the flat washer size. I had no missing parts and didn't really even need the instructions anyway. The only negative about these stools is the fake "distressing" or "antiquing" effect is more prominent in reality than it appears online. There is quite a bit more "whitewash" effect applied to the wooden parts than what you see in the photos. The stools, as a result, don't match the bar for which we got them as much as we had hoped and I wouldn't have bought them in the first place had I known that ahead of time, but we're willing to put up with it for the hefty construction and low price (the price is for only one stool, incidentally, at least for the "Pinnadel Swivel Bar Stool - Pub Height" model I got). Given the original matching stools for my bar are discontinued by the manufacturer and cost $280 each, this is a great alternative. Overall, I'm glad we found these because they look way better and are far more comfortable and functional than the cheap no-back, non-swivelling stools we had. I just ordered a fourth to finish out the set. UPDATE: December, 2020, I took off a star because the seat backs are starting to crack apart. These stools sit in a home bar and get very little use. You can easily see that the material is some sort of laminated/layered wood-like substance in the same manner plywood is layered, but whatever it is can't stand up to non-use. I haven't yet examined the rest of the stools to see if any other parts are splitting or falling apart, but it's a good bet I'll eventually have to find a way to replace the seat backs with something more durable. ... show more

Ordered 4 of these chairs and they are awesome! They go perfectly with the look I was hoping for. Super heavy duty and nice quality. Would definitely recommend. The only downside is some of the screws were stripped when putting together and my husband had to modify but it was an easy fix
