7 month update: They still look brand new! They're used multiple times a day by my very active four kids and myself. They're sat on and used to stand on to reach something by a shorter kid (don't judge, I don't allow it but I still catch them doing it now and then). My family is hard on stuff so I'm seriously impressed these are holding up so well!! One change we had to make, the adhesive felt pads eventually come off (cause the stools are slid around ALOT). We got the kind that screw in and they've been awesome. Original Review: These are VERY solid!! I love that the seat on these is bigger than most saddle seat stools I looked at, that are only 9". I'm a larger woman (size 20 bottom) and I am actually reasonably comfortable on these (more than I expected for stools!). I really got them for kids to eat at the kitchen island with but these are comfortable enough to sit in with another mom, or my husband, and enjoy some kid free time while they play in another room. The kids like them too. I'm impressed with how solid they are!!! Very sturdy, very solid. The lines on the seat are obvious but not terribly noticeable. They look more natural than the listing photos. You'll definitely want to get some adhesive felt feet for the legs. They're thick and could damage some floors. My 1" felt dots work great. You could even go a little bigger if you wanted. You will need a phillips head screw driver for 4 of the 8 screws on each stool. An allen wrench comes with the set for the ther 4 screws. I, Mrs Not So Handy Mom, put them together in 25 minutes without assistance.

My 6yo daughter was sitting on one of the stools and one of the legs just snapped off in the middle. The wood is all rotten. Also, you have to drill the base for the screws because the holes are not big enough and the screws tend to strip when trying to drive them in all the way.

These are solid, and heavy. You're going to want to put some kind of cushion on the legs to prevent the paint from rubbing off on the floor. Plenty comfortable for people who don't need a back support. I like the saddle shape. No stool backs to interrupt my line of sight. If you need a back support, buy stools with a back support, and don't criticize these stools for not having a back support. I have only one complaint: the finish on the seat has odd markings on it, as if the person who designed it thought such markings would make it look distressed. They don't. They are just odd. I have gotten use to them, and may buy another pair of these stools. Everybody who comes in the house comments on them.

Owned for two months and noticed the wood has began to split. Also worth nothing that assembly was difficult. The wood is a very dense wood and the supplied screws do not self tap. Had to break out the drill and create pilot holes and even then struggled to get seat the screws. I would not buy these chairs again.

Good, solid stools. The instructions say not to assemble with power tools but if you know how to turn the torque down on your drill then it's fine and will speed assembly up significantly. The wood is a bit soft, though, so if you don't lower the torque on the drill you're probably going to split the wood by driving screws too far into the wood. Assembled, the stools are comfortable, solid and without a wobble. I cut adhesive backed felt pads to size and stuck them to the feet. Pretty happy but I'd be happier if it were possible to buy a singular stool - I want 3 for my kitchen but they only come in two packs.

Over all a great product. Heavy and sturdy, the seats are perfect for sitting at the counter and are large so sitting remains comfortable. No cutting into the backs of legs. No sore bottoms from squeezing my fat butt onto a tea saucer sized seat. No tipping stools from being too top heavy. These stools are perfect for all butts of all shapes and sizes! Perfect for young folks who enjoy lining them up and walking over the tops and older folks who need a little more stability when they sit. Well made Very easy to put together. I highly recommend these stool!

Good and quite solid chairs. A pair comes well packaged in one box. Assembly is pretty straight forward and won't take you long: maybe half an hour for both chairs. The hardware is provided. You only will need a Philips screwdriver though. In connection with that is my only complaint about these chairs: the screws that you will need to screw into the smaller wooded pieces are not easy to screw manually. At least they will not go all the way in as other screws of the same type that are already per-screwed. So you either will just apply all your strength with a screw driver and get them as deep as possible or try using a power screw driver and hope it will not strip the screws. In my opinion, that is not a deal breaker, especially if you don't use the chairs very often and/or won't place your feet on the wooded cross piece (those are the ones that are hard to screw all the way in). Overall, I would recommend these chairs.

Unfortunately, we had 2 issues with our order. I ordered 2 stools, but received hardware only for 1. Called Amazon who then transferred me to Ashley, who sent the hardware about 10 days later. When we went to assemble the second chair, it was completely uneven, meaning one leg was much longer than the other. It was so frustrating after waiting 10 days for missing hardware. Thankfully, my dad has carpentry tools and was able to use them to try to even out the legs, although it took a lot of work. However, now one stool is shorter than the other. Wish these issues would not have happened because the stools themselves are a nice design.
