First of all know that this is extremely heavy. The box is giant and heavy and even two people will have a hard time lifting it. The wood is from some odd tree from India. It’s very sturdy and dense. Instructions were written by an ape who was looking at a different piece of furniture. None of the pieces are labeled correctly and you need a PhD in furniture assembly to make sense out of this. I called Ashley furniture and they were as helpful as they could be but were as clueless as I was looking at the instructions. Once I figured out how to put it together it made sense but good luck getting there. Once assembled it’s like 3,000,000 pounds so you will need help. I think this company at one time probably was very good but now have a fatal flaw of expecting their customers to figure out how to put something together with essentially no instructions. ... show more

I don't often write reviews as I seldom have that kind of free time, but I am writing this because I'm about to order a second one and I thought I should share how much my family loves this cabinet. It was definitely heavy when it arrived and I had to get my son to come help me move it inside. I could have opened the boxes and brought in the pieces by myself though, no problem. It was not difficult to assemble but it was helpful to have 2 people working together. Again, I probably could have done it alone. The most challenging part was getting the doors on and lined up. I used books to prop up the doors on while I drilled part way on bottom screws, then tightened up when doors looked level and lined up. One of the handles was stripped inside so it wouldn't screw on tightly. I contacted Amazon and their solution was that they wanted to send me a whole other cabinet and expected me to disassemble the one I'd just put together to return. I was definitely not about to do that. So I called Ashley furniture and they sent me a new handle for free. I had it in under a week. It's a beautiful solid cabinet. I bought to put all of our table linens in and its very spacious and looks at home and cozy in the space. I'm buying another one to store all of our board games. I should note that it had an awful odor for a couple of days but I've had it for 4 months now and it doesn't smell anymore. I think it was the packing materials because the box lingered with the smell in my garage until cardboard collection day came around. My table linens smell like wood. As for the cabinet, you need two ppl to assemble it. My boyfriend does assemblies by profession, so we were flying through it until we got to the bottom cabinet "stand". I had read in the reviews that the alignment was off. The reviews were right, it is challenging getting the mis alignment properly aligned. Luckily we achieved that! The sturdiness is definitely there! The doors are a bit off, not our fault, but the production team could be more on point with that in the future. All in all, I am happy with the amount of storage space it offers and the look. It is a nice look, but I feel I could overlook some of the defects for $599.99. But the price I paid ($926.54), I don't believe it lived up to that. ... show more

This is a beautiful and sturdy piece but one of the legs didn't have a pre-drilled hole. Also the instructions were not helpful. For the most part, it was self explanatory. The handles are uneven as stated in another review however there are very poor instructions on how to adjust the hinges to make the doors sit exactly how you want moving them up/down, side-to-side, and front/back so it is possible I didn't get then adjusted appropriately but it took me forever to get it adjusted for both the top and bottom of each door to latch to the magnets when closing so I left it at that. Overall after spending over $600 on this cabinet, I was somewhat aggravated with the issues I encountered listed above. ... show more

Like the contemporary look and the abundance of storage it has. Wife loves it! Surprised her when she returned home from a trip to find I had it assembled (by myself) and ready for her decorating and cabinet storage use! First, this is a really cool cabinet and very sturdy. It’s a lot lighter in person than is shown in photos, more of a raw wood look which is OK but not exactly what I needed to match my floors. Part of the door was broken in shipping and you have to go through Ashley for replacement parts. Which stinks since I had to wait over a month to get the cabinet in the first place (you have to schedule on local shippers’ schedule based on when they’re in your area). There are NO instructions provided with the cabinet, we had to look them up on the internet. None of the parts are labeled, except two which were MISlabeled entirely. Overall, the cabinet is nice but the experience of shipping and assembly sucked. ... show more

I absolutely love this cabinet! Delivery was a little confusing but it finally came. The box on the outside looked bad but the packaging inside was well designed and there was no damage on the actual cabinet inside. The pieces are very heavy pieces of solid sturdy wood. Assembly was easy enough. I read the instructions first and then kinda did my own thing, pro-tip: assemble the sides to the top upside-down and when assembling the doors, put the cabinet on it's side so you use your energy lining up the hinges (and not holding up the heavy door!). It probably took me a couple hours for doing it mostly by myself (out of shape, 33 yr old, mom of 2). Lastly, I had some white mineral oil we use to treat our cutting boards and I used that over all the surfaces to give it a nice gleaming finish. It also deepened the natural color of the wood, which I just love!!! Well worth the money, wait, and work to assemble!! Great product!! ... show more
