I am thoroughly impressed and enjoying this OOO guitar with vintage finish. This was purchased to be my beater parlor guitar. The top is solid bookmatched spruce, my top is very nice. The sides and back look like ply sapele. Finish is ok, the bridge has some sharp corners, looks like stained walnut but I don’t mind for the price. The neck is very nice, satin, feels good no fret issues or sharp corners. Haven’t adjusted the truss rod or nut or saddle but everything from the box seems to work. Intonation is spot on. I can’t believe the quality for the price. Tuners are ok. Even without a professional setup It’s a very nice guitar. Good luck, hope it helps you enjoy music. ... show more

I've been playing for 20+ years and bought this for my son to take to school for guitar class. Was gonna go with a Yamaha but after reading the reviews for both brands I decided to go with this guitar and I'm glad I did. Was packaged perfectly, as for the guitar not to receive damage during shipment. The string height was perfect right out of the box, just tune and play. And with it's solid top and quality construction it sounds just as good as it plays. Tuners work fine and hold tune, intonation was great and I was just really surprised and impressed on the amount of quality you get for the money. I highly suggest this for a beginner or even a beat around, camp guitar for anyone regardless of experience. Sigma is a great brand and you won't be disappointed. ... show more

I ordered this at a discount since the box was damaged. the guitar inside was in perfect condition. I could not find a scratch on it or anything wrong with it. The box is very heavy and kept the guitar safe despite the external damage. The guitar itself only required some tension on the truss rod to achieve a perfect low action. The guitar has a nice rich sound low E thru high E and is very clear and articulate. The tuners are very good and it stays in tune. Fit and finish is excellent in my opinion. In conclusion. the quality of the materials, the excellent fit and finish, the attention to detail, the Martin inspired design. All of this makes this guitar an outstanding value. A great choice for your first guitar or as addition to your collection. ... show more

Quality looking guitar. I should RRhave researched a bit more before buying. Thought all Sigma’s were made in Japan but this one is made elsewhere. Action needs to be adjusted in order for it to play properly, so I can’t properly evaluate the sound

Note: I've played guitar and mandolin for over 50 years. I am also a luthier who repairs acoustics and has built them... I bought this as a prelude to possibly buying a Martin 000-18 ,in order to see if I'd like the 1-11/16" nut, get an idea of the smallnbody tone. I also needed a creek banker ,you know, compact ,something I didn't care about scratching up.... also to has something I didn't have to keep in a case and was sitting next to the sofa so as soon as I had an idea for a song ,a lick ,it would be readily accessible.. Folks this guitar surprised the heck out of me , I was expecting a guitar without much tonality, but wow ! The action was low.. IT EVEN HAS SCALOPPED BRACES, perfect except that the neck had a slight backbow because the trussrod was adjusted too tight causing ta slight fret buzz above the 5th fret,( only reason for not giving it a 5th star) . not a problem, I took the trussrod allenwrench that came with it and and slightly backed off the rod until the buzz went away. Later I installed a bone saddle and a pure mini pickup.. I HIGHLY recommend this guitar for the reasons above, and also for a new player needing a first guitar. Sounds good and easy to play..if fornsome reason its not setup right ,get a pro to do it because it will be well worth it for that potentially new player......Mine was $200 to the door. It's gone up about 20 bucks more.. Unbelievable for the price . And I'm hard pressed to actually buy that Martin 000-18 now. Because I think I can improve this soundness more on this one . When the first guitar arrived (which I later exchanged), it looked fine outwardly—the only issue was that the strings were rusted. I thought, "Okay, that's no big deal; I was planning to replace the strings anyway." I tuned it up and played a bit, only to hear a buzzing sound caused by fret buzz. My years of guitar experience told me I needed to adjust the truss rod in the neck; and wouldn't you know it? The rod had absolutely no tension and just kept spinning freely. So, I contacted Amazon to request an exchange. When the second guitar finally arrived, it was in the ghastly condition you see in the photos—a complete waste of a month and a half of my time. ... show more

Good reviews, good price, what could go wrong? I found out. The first one that I bought, came dented. Too bad, it sounded good except for the buzzing on the top E string. Even with the dent, I would have sent it back because I don't know how to fix it. The truss rod was loose and tightening, would only make the buzz worse. I ordered a replacement (#2) and, shock of all shocks, it had a dent in exactly the same place, and exactly the same depth. There was no buzz on this one and the tone quality was good. Still, it is a good deal, and a good replacement for my FG 140 Yamaha, that has a narrow nut for my big hands. So, in never-say-die character, I ordered a third one. #3 is due for delivery today, so I will amend this post, hopefully, with an unblemished guitar. Epilog: #3 arrived unblemished and factory fresh. NO DENTS! No buzz. I might want to change strings because they seem a bit stiff, but that's no drawback, It is more playable than my Yamaha FG-140 and not quite as raucous as my 12 string. I read all of the glowing reviews and against my better judgement decided to take a chance and guess what, my better judgement was correct and I should’ve listened to it. The strings were badly corroded, the top color was a gaudy yellow orange color, the neck had a pronounced back bow and the nail in the coffin was the totally non adjustable truss rod. It just spun like it was not connected to anything or broken. 😞 Been working on guitars for 25 years so I have a bit of knowledge on how it’s supposed to work. I’m happy for all the folks who got good ones but just wanted to let everyone know that there are some clunkers in the system so buyer beware! Thankfully Amazon has a great return system. ... show more
