Description

Mixing a comfortable wide-angle design with an ultra-fast maximum aperture, the 16mm f/1.4 DC DN is part of Sigma's Contemporary series of lenses and is designed for use with Canon EF-M-mount mirrorless cameras. Characterized by its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens is adept at working in low-light conditions and also affords increased control over depth of field for selective focus control. The optical design makes use of several low dispersion and aspherical elements, which control color fringing and various aberrations in order to provide high sharpness and clarity throughout the aperture range. Individual elements also feature a Super Multi-Layer Coating to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Benefitting the optical assets, this lens also sports a stepping AF motor for quick, quiet, and smooth focusing performance that suits both still photography as well as video applications.

  • A must for EF-M mount cameras.

This lens does an amazing job, if your in the market for a wide angle lens don’t hesitate to buy this piece of kit. It is worth every penny that you spend on this, such a great lens. I was taking some photos at a paintball tournament, when I switched to this lens to get some wide angle shots. This delivered some of the best shots I took, Sigma did an amazing job with this lens. Now I need to pick up the last lens from Sigma, their 56mm f/1.4 prime. ... show more

  • Amazing Lens

This is definitely a lens for all of your photography needs when you don't want to pack around a bunch of lenses. It will more than meet your needs in a lens. Sigma lenses have never disappointed me. This lens is worth the investment.

  • Took beautiful photos

Great lens for the price! I’ve absolutely loved it so far. I’ve taken some really fun beautiful photos with it and can’t wait to keep working at it! Would definitely recommend as a beginner photographer lens. Took all of the posted photos with it. Seems to take a second to focus well so not great with faster moving objects (like kids). ... show more

  • it makes your M50 worth to keep, it over delivers for astrophotography.
Style: Single
These shots have no processing done at all, this lens produces a lot of background blur and i love it, also, my astrophotography capabilities have increased a lot with this lens, again, i have not done anything to these photos, the lens managed to gather that much light in the milkyway shot, it is a game changer. Focus is good Picture quality for astro is great (not considering the aperture) but i saw some red shifting or red defects showing up on some stars when i began to enhance them, so it isn't perfect, i have a Sigma 17-50 F2.8 that does not produce this defect but i'll take the extra light tyvm. Picture quality in everyday objects and people is very very good, as good as it gets at this price. Weight is ok, i did balance the camera with thi lens on a 2kg rated gimbal. This lens is worth buying if you have nothing as wide and as bright, i repeat, i already own a 17-50 mm f2.8 from Sigma, and this lens is soooo unique that i woudln't think that the 17mm will do good enough to not buy this lens. The camera i used is a Canon M50 at 10 secons with iso at 800 - 1250 for the milkyway shots, on a very clear night. According to my expectations, this lens over delivered for astrophotography. ... show more

It’s a good lens, but doesn’t compare to its Cannon 22mm counterpart

  • THE BEST LENSE FOR CANON!
Style: Single
My boyfriend is a nerd and always has been. Anyways, he ended up getting a job doing real estate videography/photography because he has great photoshop/premiere pro skills so he picked up a canon m6 mark II starter kit. Not even a week later he felt disappointed with the lenses Canon provided. He didn't feel that it was worth the price. So he found this and picked up this lense and even I'm socked at the difference. This lense is worth every single penny when combined with his canon! ... show more

  • Excellent lens, but Large
Style: Single
This Sigma lens produces really nice photos, especially in low light. But it is a really large and heavy lens and I quickly realized that I probably would not reach for it often so I did return it and opted instead for the Canon EF-M 22 mm 2.0 which while not as wide or as fast also produces beautiful photos and adds so little size and weight to my Canon M50 that I know I will reach for it often. If the size isn't an issue for you, do NOT hesitate to grab this really nice lens. I also got a very nice deal by purchasing a used lens and it was in perfect, like new, in the box condition. ... show more
