My hips are 36 in and my waist is 25 in, and it still fits as tight as I need. I've tried a dozen or so of these and similar braces, and this one does seem to last the longest (keep in mind Velcro will fail eventually on any brace because it's the nature of Velcro). The redesign is great, it is much more firm than my last one by them and it slips less. Seems less bulky, too. Overall if you haven't tried an SI brace for your lower back pain, I really really recommend one. It cuts my recovery time by half and helps with the pain immediately!

I only gave this a 4 because this is the first day I have used it. I am leaning toward a 5 rating but it is too soon. I have lower back pain. Bad. I can't walk without putting my fist in the center of my lower spine and pressing in while I walk. I can't pick up heavy weights. When I get out of the car I am bent over and it is very painful to straighten up. I cannot bend over and then straighten up without a lot of pain. I tried back braces. No luck. I went to physical therapy. No luck. The back braces were too cumbersome and bulky and the therapy never got near the problem. I wanted something thinner and would fit where my spine and buttocks met. Nothing I had did that. Then I saw this advertised and for the price I gave it a try. Today I put it on and could not believe what happened. I could walk without the fist in the back. And little or no pain. I walked further, faster, and standing straight up and not bent over. Sitting didn't bother me, Driving didn't bother me I couldn't believe it. I read other reviews on similar products. They complained of the Velcro. This was just fine. It looks well made but that is why I only gave it a 4. I want to see how long it lasts. If it holds up, I will be getting more of these for when one is in the wash. BTW..... I wore mine over my shirt that was tucked in my pants. VERY comfortable and you don't really feel you have it on. The back brace was very visible and uncomfortable when you sat down. I love this. It works for my problem. I have arthritis and degenerative disks in my lower back. This brace fits the bill for me. PS.... I also picked up a 35 lb bag of dog food in and out of our car and had no back pain doing it.

I've used a lumbar support brace before for lower back pain, but it was stiff and too bulky to wear easily under clothes. My PT recommended an SI belt instead, and the results are 100%. It's very comfortable and I can wear it all day. Velcro holds flawlessly. I fell exactly between belt sizes and went with the larger one. Glad I did because It allows for plenty of overwrap for even more stability. Well-made and my new favorite. Pain after sitting or with prolonged standing is GONE!

I thought I would give this a try. I have been having trouble a night with my hip area and could not get comfortable. When I wear it to bed I notice a big difference then when I don’t. At first was hard getting used to wearing to bed.

5 months of moderate random use as needed and the velcro is useless. It wasn't great to begin with if I moved a lot but now it won't stay together at all. I use a belt over it to keep it in place which is lame esp if I go out in public with it, so I'm considering sewing on those slip clips and buying something else to wear when I'm out. Just super aggravating & poor design, I wish I hadn't bought it.

I am a 66-year old male. I am athletic and very health oriented but had to give up tennis about a year ago because of lower back/hip pain. X-rays of the area showed nothing abnormal. Bursitis, Sciatica, Arthritis, Lumbar, Sacroiliac. These are some of the words thrown around by my doctors. They recommended physical therapy and of course NSAIDs. The physical therapy was worthless and even though the NSAIDS did help I did not want to be dependent on them just to get by. I did my own research and developed my own physical therapy routine which included specialized stretches, range-of-motion movements, weight lifting, recumbent bicycle, swimming, and more. Averaging about 1 1/2 hours per day I have gotten myself in the best shape of my life. But, the back/hip pain was still there--exactly as before. So, a couple weeks ago I got very serious about it and went to my doctor again. This is when he finally mentioned the sacroiliac joint. That's as far as it went in the office but at least he gave me the idea. When I got home i started my research. Yes, it was finally starting to make sense! STABILITY -- that's what the sacroiliac provides. The joint actually moves very little but it protects the spinal column from too much vibration and motion. The joint is connected with a vast network of ligaments, tendons, muscle, and of course nerves, and when it gets injured it needs time to heal. The problem is that even the most minor of daily activities will stress the joint and potentially cause more damage making healing difficult or impossible. So I would wake up in the morning with little or no pain. As the day went on, walking, sitting, getting in and out of the car, bending, leaning, reaching. All these things could "set it off" and by the end of the day I was almost always in misery. Anyway, in my research i came across the idea of using a sacroiliac belt. I immediately went to Amazon and ordered this belt paying an extra $10 for expedited shipping. I'm not writing this excruciatingly verbose review to praise this specific belt, although it is well-made, priced right, and does what it is supposed to do. I am writing this to encourage those with similar pain to at least give this a try. From the moment I put it on I got a nice feeling of STABILITY that I hadn't felt for a long while. Right away I could start doing many many activities without having to worry about "setting off" my hip. Its too early to tell how long its going to take to heal, but at the end of the day i feel great with little or no pain--and the belt is actually very comfortable. I wear it all day and for me it is most effective worn in the cradle formed by the ilium and hip bones. In that position is also has the advantage of remaining in place without riding up, etc.

I’ve been limping like crazy from pregnancy (relaxin causing SI Joint to feel my leg bone literally falling out of my pelvis) and this is helping me limp a bit less. The belt is great quality and I don’t think another would do any better- it’s just how any would work. It won’t take all the pain away but it takes some of the torture away. I wish they made them thin to sit under clothes so I could be more comfortable wearing it out of the house but I’ll take it. My chiro usually works for everything but hasn’t helped much with this problem nor can he do much so I’ll take whatever I can get.
