I gave this mic it’s first test run this weekend in a live performance. This mic sounds great with a good quality kick drum. Just as good sound as some more expensive mics. Good solid construction too. The cable they send with it is made we’ll also. It will be my go to from here on.

Bought one from my local shop for my new Pearl Export bass drum. First time having a ported head, so it took some experimenting to get it sounding good. This mic gives a pretty good sound, but no matter where I put it, I heard an extra little metallic 'ping' on my audio track on each bass hit. I thought it was the outside drum rim clipping my mic stand; so I moved the mic back a little, but I still heard it. It's not noticable one you get everything else in the mix though. I can't rule out that the 'ping' isn't from my pedal somehow. ... show more

Picks up low end easy. Placed 3" from head offset from beater is perfect. Plenty of punch, and low end. Do not increase low mix to much or things get muddy. Solid Mic.
