The Shure Broadcast Desk Series SH-BROADCAST2 is a premium, low-profile desk- mounted microphone boom arm designed to stay below the shoulder line. It offers extreme versatility to broadcasters, podcasters, and streamers seeking a discreet desktop miking solution with an unobstructed view. The boom arm includes two mounting options: a desk clamp that can mount on surfaces up to 2.17 inches (55mm) thick, or a direct mount that can be drilled into your desktop for a more permanent mounting solution. Constructed from heavy-duty steel, the boom arm offers a full 360-degree horizontal adjustment and a 90-degree upper vertical adjustment. Fully extended, the SH-BROADCAST2 spans up to 33 inches (838mm) to cover the largest desktop setups. The heavy-duty design supports a weight capacity of up to 4.4 lbs. (2kg), and the convenient top-mounted magnetic cable channels provide clean cable management, keeping your desktop clutter-free. The threaded extension provides additional clearance, making it an excellent match for your preferred Shure SM7 or MV7 Series microphones.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I needed a stand for a mic, but one that can fit under my monitor but also have enough height to swing out over some of my other accessories when I need to use the mic. This fits that bill perfectly. I was surprised by the weight of the arm when it was delivered. The pictures on Amazon had me thinking it would be plastic, but it's made of sturdy metal. I love it, it’s sturdy and reliable. Didn’t have issues installing it. Loved the wire compartment. Value for money is great. Coming to the ease if movement, from time to time you need to tighten the joints. Especially because i use it a lot. So it becomes lose. But it’s fine.

    • Not worth the money
I bought this for my shure mv6 microphone and the arm couldn’t support the weight, and no matter how much you try to tighten the knobs the arm itself would not hold its position. Very poor product.

3/18/25 All I can say is that I am a HUGE FAN of this boom, mic arm. It is nice and clean, moves with such ease - no GLIDES! It gives my desk the clean look I wanted to maintain versus the standard swing arms that are super clunky. I like the added attention to detail with having a nice magnetic bar that pops right off to hide the cord from the mic instead of those cumbersome plastic cap covers. I had debated on whether to purchase this item or not, seriously who spends that much for such a basic item...it was more than worth it! It is a natural fit for my SHURE mic as well. I could not be more pleased unless the stand was given to me for free! (Laughing) Go ahead and make yourself happy as well. You deserve something that is as nice as this that keeps your desk clutter free and allows you to move the mic easily into the position you desire. ... show more

My first mic boom, so I don't know how to compare it. I felt it was a little loose or wobbly when first set up, but it's holding my Vocaster XLR mic and is easily repositioned without sagging in any orientation. Stability. That's what I was concerned with. I love the magnetic cable covers. Decent range of motion for being low slung. I'm tall, so being able to orient the mic mattered too. ... show more

    • Needs to be redesigned
I really wanted this one, but wasn’t as sturdy as I would have liked. The bottom adjustment joint kept coming apart, and it was difficult to tighten it. I’m not sure if the bolts were stripped or if the screw was stripped, but I couldn’t get tighten. I went with a screwless option.
