I bought this shoe rack because my shoe collection was starting to look less like a collection and more like a safety hazard. The good news is that it holds all of my shoes and my husband's two pairs just fine. (I'm not judging him for only owning two pairs of shoes. In fact, I admire that level of self-control. I simply do not possess it.) It seems sturdy overall. Sometimes it looks like it might be leaning a little, but our floors are about as level as a roller coaster, so I can't honestly blame the shoe rack for that. It naturally rests against the wall and hasn't caused any issues. The shelves fit most shoes comfortably. If you're a normal person with a reasonable number of shoes, you'll probably have plenty of room. If you're like me and somehow acquire footwear at a faster rate than you can wear it, your mileage may vary. Another bonus is that it doesn't have to be used just for shoes. I could easily see it working for folded clothes, baskets, toys, or other small household items. Overall, it was easy to assemble, holds a surprising amount, and has helped transform the pile of shoes by my door from "crime scene evidence" into something that at least resembles organization. Easy to assemble. My 11 yr old put it up for me by herself. Sturdy. I put some stuff on top of this and it’s holding strong. Comfortably holds all of my shoes including my boots. All of my boots are stored at the bottom of the shoe closet. There are 2 pockets on each side which I love. I put my laptop and laptop charger in one of the pockets. It looks exactly as pictured. Perfect. Light weight, easy to use...Assembly was a bit of a pain, but pay attention and study the instructions like you are studying for a final and you'll be alright. It took me a little over an hour to set it up. My wife fit so many darn shoes in this thing it is truly amazing. Needless to say it can fit a lot of stuff. The materials it is made from are all cheap and chinsy, and with the way it looks you should probably aim to hide it in a closet, but it is functional and does its job well. It is not pretty, it is made from low quality materials, and it is a pain to put together. Not extremely stable either. But if you take your time putting it together and hide it out of sight in a place where its not going to get knocked over it will certainly do what it is designed to do. ... show more

This assembled OK but the material that covers it that zips up is very chintzy. I want something that cover the shoes so they don’t get dust all over them, but it’s already ripped a little bit just from zipping it open and closed. Needs to have a heavier material.

Functionally, this shoe rack is excellent for its price point. It holds four pairs of men-sized sneakers per rack. With nine-usable racks, that works out to 36 pairs of sneakers. I suppose you can put another four pairs on the very top of the unit to equate to 40 pairs of shoes. With kids shoes, I'm able to squeeze in five pairs per rack so if you're using this for kids shoes, you can get 45 pairs of shoes within the inner racks -- and 50 if you include the very top of the unit. Putting it together took 35 minutes but during that time, my dogs were interacting with me and some of that time was spent petting the dogs. Assembly was a matter of threading metal rods into a black canvas-like material, then pushing the rods into plastic connectors. This is repeated again nine more times to build out the individual racks. Then four shorter metal rods per rack are used to interconnect the racks. I call them racks instead of shelves because the canvas material is relatively thin but seems strong enough to support the four-five pairs of shoes per rack it was designed to hold. The metal rods are also made of a fairly thin gauge sheet metal -- but again, fine for holding shoes on the racks but not strong enough to hold heavier items -- which is not what this was made for anyways. Once fully assembled, the standing unit seems fairly sturdy -- not a lot of flexing back and forth as you would expect from an all-plastic shoe rack (again, the rods are all metal with plastic connectors between). The cover that goes around the unit does help give it a finished look. It's made of a thinner material than that canvas-like material used to hold the shoes. The material reminds me of those cheap, thin reusable shopping bags that are water-permeable. But it's only meant to keep out dust so it looks like it will serve that purpose. On the bottom-front are two built-in ties that allow you to tie the cover to the bottom legs of the shoe rack. I do wish there were a few more of these built in ties going up the cover to so that the frame that the cover creates around the shoe rack didn't look so floppy and untidy but I'll probably use tie wraps or something if it bothers me enough. Overall, I would definitely recommend this shoe rack for the value pricing. ... show more
