Smooth ,well built and strong. Paired with a seeker 6480 ct for Oregon sturgeon. Love this setup. Star drags are a nice switch from lever drags when built properly.

Fantastic reel. Like all of my Shimano purchases, it reeks with quality. I would not use it for tuna over 50 pounds due to the drag system not being suited to huge fighting fish, however the free spool and casting ability is very, very good.

Would NEVER recommend! Burnt/tore drag washer on a 13lb Salmon, a almost-new reel. Parts probably all made in China, and not Japan. Shame!
