I have been using Shimano since the first Bantam bait casters and Quickfire spinning reels entered the U.S. market. Have had low end and higher end since as well as other brands. This reel is easily the best bang for the buck reel in the market today. Smooth beyond belief. Even smoother than my slightly older Stradic of the same size. The retrieve is spot on and the drag is flawless. Balances perfectly with my slightly older 5ft. 6in. ultralight Shimano Sensilite rod. Easily handled a 3.3lb. largemouth who bit a Z-Man Flashback Mini on 4lb. Vicious mono. And just to clarify, this is the Japanese market Nasci reel, not the "Nusky" misspelled in the description. ... show more

    • Perfect Ultralight Pair
Style: 1000fc
I picked this up for my 2pc UL rod and have loved everything about it. The action is smooth, reel is light, and the handle is very ergonomic. I really appreciated that the reel did not twist my line after an entire summer of use. If you're looking for an UL reel to pair with an UL rod, this is the one. High performance in a small package for a great value. ... show more

    • Not like my other Nasci 1000
Style: 1000fc
This reel went on Garry lumis Excalibur. Very grindy locks up, not smooth. Trying an exchange. If I get the same thing I'll return and go to brick and mortar store.
