  • HaganeBody - The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. Iy'ss efficiency through strength.
  • SVS Infinity - Shimano's newest innovation in brake system technology, SVS Infinity provides easy-to-manage, consistent spool control and brake force. With weights that use inner friction against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting especially when using lighter lures. The external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments for either the conditions or when you switch baits
  • S3D Spool - This technology leads to reduced spool vibration. By designing a balanced and uniform thin wall aluminum constructed spool, S3D creates an incredibly smooth feel casting and retrieveing lures
  • Super Free Spool - Was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, hen the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and actually can drag on the spool shaft creating friction that can limit the length of the length of the cast. With Super Free, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing so that when the clutch is disengaged for a cast, the pinion gear and spool shaft are kept in perfect alignment.

Description

The SLX DC is designed for effortless casting, in any conditions. Constructed on the same compact, rigid and versatile platform as the popular SLX bait reel. And with the addition of Shimano's unique DC braking technology, the SLX DC does not put any compromise on throwing performance. The DC braking system means that this reel has brains! The DC system calculates the appropriate braking force 1000 times per second. This prevents backlash and at the same time optimizes the distance and accuracy of the cast. It makes fishing with a baitcasting reel very easy and effortless. No need to change the settings of the reel when the weather or lure changes. The DC system will do this for you! This results for more efficient fishing time and better focus for the angler. And the best news for the anglers is this: with the SLX DC this technology is available for an unbelievable low price.

If you've used cheap baitcasters and could never get it to work every time without eventually bird nesting and driving you insane then you need to spend a little more and get this reel. Mine is spooled with 15lb braid and a 50lb braid backer and on setting 2 it casts perfectly each time. The few times that anything did happen was nothing near back lash. A couple of wraps of line would stand up and thats it. Cleared out in 2 seconds and back to fishing. I have mine on a 6th Sense FLUX 7'3 rod and I can sling it 40 - 50 yards every time with no backlash. If you've always wanted a good baitcaster that won't drive you crazy or break the bank than this is the one you need. Oh and it makes that cool sound when you cast haha. ... show more

Perfect for the Spin-to-Baitcast transition
Size: Gear Ratio: 8.2:1 | Size: 150 Left
It stinks that this is the perfect "learning baitcaster" because its not in the entry level price range. But man oh man did this make going from spinning reels to bait casters so much easier. For a while, i would bring my baitcaster and two spinning rods on my kayak. Id use the baitcaster until i got a huge birdsnest that i couldnt clear then switch. With this reel, i finally could make it a full day without getting the dreaded birdsnest. I could finally plan on using this rod the whole day without having to switch out due to my own learning curve. This is the perfect reel for someone interested in making the switch. It takes a financial commitment but now i find i can use the cheaper, more birds nest prone baitcasters with minimal issue. I'll continue to improve with the baitcaster but the SLX gave me the confidence to stick with my baitcasting rod for the whole day amd no longer bring my back up spinning reel setup. ... show more

Smooth

Excellent reel for the money. It was easy to set up and cast very far and very smooth. Once set up "correctly", had no problems with backlash even in the wind with light tackle. I ordered the 151XT and unfortunately couldn't get used to the left hand retrieve, but figured I cast with my right so why not try a left hand. Not. Returned the reel, received my refund within an hour of them receiving it, and immediately reordered the 150HG. Unfortunately, it won't be here until Mar 1-2. The good thing is, I have surgery to repair my shoulder and won't need it till then. Good job Shimano... ... show more

By far one of the best DC reels for the money. Works just as well as my curado dc reels.

Amazing reels, can’t go wrong with any shimano dc reels. But for the money, these are incredible. I now have 3 of them and 3 curado dc reels. They can keep up with my curado dc reels.
