You absolutely cannot go wrong purchasing this reel at this price. Let's face it: this reel is tried and true. Proven. Any fisherman could feel confident putting this into his arsenal. I live in Corpus Chrisi, Texas and this specific reel (Shimano IX4000R) was purchased to replace the same exact model that failed after 7 years of salt water inshore fishing. The outfit: Shimano IX 4000R on a 7' Ugly Stick GX2, with 20lb Spider Wire braid as my main line. I use this rig to try and target Specal Trout and Mangrove Snapper along the jetty rocks in the bay. As an "entry level" reel this is a fantastic purchase. When I am fortunate enough to introduce someone to fishing, this is the reel I recommend they start with. Rinsing with freshwater after salt water fishing, kept my last one going for YEARS. ... show more
