Friends mom had a stroke and several of us have been doing what we can to get them set up to be independent. She is able to take care of herself and was able to get into a new assist village where individuals are living alone but have access to support. Able to give her spare bedroom and got this mattress protector in case she has liquid spills. She'll be sitting up in the bed having some of her meals and wanted to make sure if she had a coffee or tea accident that the mattress would not absorb the liquid. It had one when we gave it to her but I also let my dogs sleep there so it had some pet dander. Once the cover was removed you cold not tell it was a used bed. Still looked two years new and smelled new. She didn't think she needed it but once she learned dogs were in it and it didn't smell like it, she accepted this mattress cover. Folks, regular accidents could happen and all you do is wash it and no one is the wiser. Have used this for an elderly friend who had diarrhea type issue from her stroke and while she was hospitalized I just had to rinse off in shower, use bio-hazzard type of soap in washer and it was all good again. Mattress was still perfect condition and didn't leak through. this thing really works. When friend returned home we left the bed looking like she left it when paramedics took her. Didn't know we cleaned it up. This is a lot of detail but this is why you should have one of these. Especially if you have a Foam style mattress which is hard to get liquids out of if you spill on it. Usually you end up buying a new one.

This is a decent mattress protect cover. The top fiber is soft to the touch and feels comfortable. The small quilted stitches should make it more durable. The underside has a layer of polyurethane which has some liquid spillage resistance. The elastic skirt makes it fit for a wide range of mattress depth.
