These are not the softest sheets i have ever felt but they are still pretty darn good. Softer than a lot of cotton sheets that I have slept on!! The purple is a muted medium shade of purple, I was hoping for a deeper color, but still very pretty. I also have the gray which is a standard dark to medium gray. I bought a 12 inch cali king mattress. these sheets fit really well with no issues of them pulling off of the corners. I like the materials as well. they are very soft and quite smooth. I have washed them then dried them a few times and they have held up well. I like them more than the sheets I bought at the overpriced bedroom and bathroom store. Sheets are very soft and I have washed them approximately 20 times. They are still as soft as when they arrived. No shrinkage in the fit. I will be purchasing more of these.
