Had my doubts based on the reviews, but took my time removing the old battery as not to break anything and the new battery went in fairly easily. I shaved the end on a chopstick and used that to gently pry the old battery off of that sticky tape that it sits in. Also it helps if you have a magnifying glass when disconnecting and reconnecting the wire connector. But so far so good! After a month, the battery is holding a full charge on my Nest 3rd gen. I am buying another one for my other dead Nest thermostat. It's much cheaper than buying a new thermostat.

You've got to me a magician to change this battery. The WHOLE thing has to come apart in layers, the old battery does not come out. I could not even get a chance to try this battery because getting the old one out was impossible. I did wiggle the wires on the old one, trying to figure out how to disconnect them and it started flashing green so maybe I just had a loose wire? But I can't get it back together now to see if it works so I'm out of a thermostat. I think I'll just get an old school programable thermostat. I could never hook up the nest to my phone anyway since it was in my house when I bought it. Oh well.

Just installed onto my Nest Thermostat Gen 2, works just fine! Instead of spend another $250 for a brand new one, I purchased this battery to replace original faulty battery ( battery low issue). So far so good.

I recently purchased the SHENMZ TL284443 Battery, a product that was touted as a "2023 New Upgraded" version with a 580mAh capacity, specifically designed as a replacement battery for the Nest thermostat. However, my experience with this product was nothing short of a nightmare. Firstly, the instructions provided with the battery were abysmal. They were vague, poorly written, and lacked the necessary detail for a successful installation. It was as if they were written by someone who had never seen a Nest thermostat, let alone installed a battery in one. The lack of clear guidance left me fumbling in the dark, trying to figure out how to properly install this battery. The real disaster, however, was the battery cable. It simply did not fit into the slot on the board. Despite my best efforts to gently and carefully connect it, the cable stubbornly refused to plug in. This is a fundamental design flaw that should never have made it past quality control. A replacement battery that doesn't fit the device it's designed for is, quite frankly, useless. To add insult to injury, in my attempts to install this ill-fitting battery, the bracket on my Nest thermostat was destroyed. This was not a result of user error, but a direct consequence of trying to make a poorly designed product work. Now, I am left with a broken thermostat, a useless battery, and a hole in my pocket to the tune of over $200. In conclusion, the SHENMZ TL284443 Battery is a product I would not wish on my worst enemy. It's a masterclass in how not to design a product, with its horrible instructions, incompatible design, and potential to cause costly damage. I strongly advise anyone considering this product to steer clear and look for a better, more reliable alternative.

Was nice to come with screwdriver included. Seems to work fine in Nest Thermostat (3rd gen) for now. No issues other then the difficulty of installing the power header since it was so small.

I installed these batteries in two of my Nest Gen 3 Thermostats. The process was relatively simple and the screwdriver that came with the product was appreciated. Day 1: After the install everything seemed to work great. A couple hours later, the batteries were dead on both thermostats. I wasn't sure if the batteries came charged so I plugged them both into USB Chargers and charged them overnight to make sure they were fully charged. Day 2: I reattached both the thermostats now that they had charged overnight. Everything looked great. 5 hours later, the batteries on both were dead again. This does not to be an issue with an individual battery since both suffer from the same symptom. TL/DR: These batteries don't hold a charge. Buyer beware!!

Package looks good and very professional. Nice kit. The key, of course, is how long battery lasts. I previously bought a cheaper battery on Ebay that was advertised as "OEM" but it had terrible life. So one has to be careful and this Company seems to be interested in developing a good reputation. Hope to have better luck here and will update in a couple months.
