Regular dog groomer clippers just don't go through them, and cutting them out with a scissors leaves the coat irregular. A friend suggested sheep shears, and these work great. Pretty good little rig. I’m not a fast sheerer so it gets hot . Even when oiled . But that might get better as I improve . Very happy with this purchase for the price only used on my small flock of 8 babydoll sheep . But did nice work even tho I didn’t lol

Arrived quickly, and ready to go. The blades were already in place, all you needed to do was plug it in. We quickly sheared 2 show lambs the first night, and then 2 more the next time. The only thing that you will need that it doesn't come with is oil for the blades. Compared to a profession shear for $600, this is a great bang for you buck to shear off a few show sheep. ... show more

I should have returned them when I had the chance but thought the issue was that my Icelandic had a thick fleece. But these won’t even do well on a finer fleece. They overheat almost immediately. I’m super disappointed.

I bought these to trim my doodles but they are to heavy and noisey for them . They vibrate a lot so the dogs are terrified . Didn't try these until it was to late to send back so wasted money.
