Perfect when you need to escape that hot sun, I instantly feel a drop in degrees under it to help cool off, it’s a perfect size, small enough to walk through a crowded market and big enough to cover the top half of my body. So far it holds up against the wind but I wouldn’t go pushing it in some extreme weather wind. The stripe pattern is very pretty with style so it really comes off as a summer umbrella, the button launch feature is rad and it packs up small to carry in a bag/purse. I take it everywhere!

EXTREMELY COMPACT When they said super-slim, they really meant it. This thing is TINY. And because it's tiny, it's extremely light too. So if you need something as small as possible—think packing a suitcase—this is perfect for you. MESSY WHEN CLOSING On the other hand, I have to agree with many other buyers out there. I found closing this umbrella to be…weird. Usually, the canvas sorta' folds together neatly but this one doesn't. You have to force it together and then at the end, the ends sorta' flares out. As you can see in my picture, it's not that pretty at the end. WRINKLES You saw the wrinkles at the end, but there are also wrinkles when the umbrella is open. Let me say that this umbrella doesn't look like an ordinary umbrella. It's made of a different fabric that gives it a sheen in the light. The wrinkles usually disappear in other umbrellas but this doesn't. I'm guessing the reason is that the canvas is made up of special material to protect your from the sun. It does work—this thing is very good at keeping you cool and shaded. So if this thing can keep you shaded at the cost of a few wrinkles, I'm totally cool with it. BUILD QUALITY & DURABILITY I've been using this for several months. The umbrella has held up. I've purchased umbrellas that actually broke after the first use. This one got me worried because of how light it is, but it's still keeping up! SIZING This umbrella can NOT fit 2 people. It's definitely for only one person. And given how rain sometimes goes sideways, the ends of your pants may get slightly wet when it does. But again, I'm fine with it. I rather prefer to keep the umbrella compact so it could easily fit in my car's glove compartment. FUNCTION Closing the umbrella isn't that bad. With other umbrellas, you can just pull back. With this one, given how compact it is, you need to push the tip of the umbrella against the ground so the whole thing fully closes. Some may not like this but totally fine with me. I found it easy to use. PRICE At $40, this is definitely on the high side. I'm guessing it's due to the special fabric. It does look expensive. FINAL PURCHASE RECOMMENDATION Hmm…this is a hard one because of the price and wrinkles. At the end of the day, I knocked it off one star. If you have the money and you want to splurge, I'd say go for it if you need an umbrella that can protect you from the sun. But if you don't, I'd pass.

I love this little umbrella! I picked up the ShedRain super slim for myself in the Sugar pink color. Its a beautiful light blush shade of pink, and I love it. It is really compact, but it doesnt slack at all on keeping you dry. I live in Alabama and we get a lot of crazy weather and rain throughout the year. So this little umbrella gets used by me a LOT. The one handed auto open and close function is really nice, and it works well. This is wind resistant too. Not saying it would hold up in super strong winds, but for normal windy rainy days and the occasional stronger gust, it has done the job just fine for me. It also covers a large enough space to keep me and my purse dry. That's really nice! Many umbrellas don't totally cover my purse or whatever bag I'm carrying. This one covers me and my belongings nicely. I really like the oval shaped handle too. It has a rubbery texture to it so I can grib it easy and it doesn't slide around my hand if my hand or the handle is wet. Its much easier for me to hold too. I have freakishly small hands for a grown woman, and so that's something that I appreciate likely more than most! The size fits well in the side door pocket of my car too. The others I have do not. The listing says that this has a 50 SPF canopy and that it blocks 98% of the UV rays. That's great for me in Alabama! This seems like a strong, well made umbrella. It says its frame is made of aluminum and carbon-steel. That's great and I imagine what helps it stand up to wind so well. The only small gripe I do have, and I'm sure its my inadequate ways of folding the umbrella back up properly, but I don't think I will ever be able to get this to fit back in its super cute little outer fabric shell. I've used it a good many times and the first time I took it out of the cover is the last time it was in it. I have tried multiple times to get it to fold back neatly to where it will go back in the case, as I would prefer that, but so far I've had no luck. I'm not taking off a star for that though because I have never been able to get any umbrella I've ever owned back into any little fabric case it came with. I guess my brain just doesn't work that way. But so far I've not been able to get it back in nor get it to close as neatly as it was when I first took it our if the little cover. That's alright. Just something I wanted to mention. I love this umbrella so much that I'm not taking off a star, and the fact that I've never been able to get any other one back in its cover over my 46 years of life, well that seems like its a me problem and not this umbrella's. Plus, I'm not really here to test and use the case. Its the umbrella. But I do wish that it would fold back up easy enough to go nicely back into its little cover bc it looks so nice and neat. Over all, this is an excellent slim and compact umbrella that doesn't sacrifice any coverage or strength. This is a well known and reputable brand known for making great products. I know the kind of higher price point may scare some. But, if you want a really good umbrella that isn't going to fold over or fold upwards on you the moment a stiff breeze comes through, this is more than worth it. Plus, the little umbrellas at the big box stores are like 12-16 bucks. This is basically 3 of those. And I've bought far more than 3. This one has done an over all better job at keeping me dry and covering my purse or bag than any of my huge ones and better than any of the budget ones I have. I would not hesitate to buy another one if I needed to. These also offer a nice variety of pretty and vibrant colors to choose from. Aside from the one small gripe about not being able to get it folded up neat enough to fit back in the little fabric case, I have no cons for you on the umbrella itself. This is the nicest one I've ever had. And with an umbrella - you will get what you pay for. I know for a fact I could have bought at least 3 of these with how many budget-brellas I've bought just in the last 5 years. So the price, for me is worth it for the stronger construction and for the far better coverage in the rain. If you're looking for a well built, truly great but slim and compact umbrella, I absolutely recommend this one! This is the brand I'll be returning to when I need another or an extra one in any size they offer. I really love mine, and its one you should seriously consider!

I live in the high desert, where rain is rare event and I don't need an umbrella, but I travel to the coastal Northwest where it rains more days than not. I never check luggage and use a carry-on plus personal item backpack, so everything I pack needs to justify the space it takes up in either of these. This ShedRain Super-Slim Compact Umbrella is exactly what I was looking for. It is so small and slender, I can slide it into the outer zip pockets of either my rolling carry-on and even my backpack. Yet, the build is strong and I don't feel like I'm sacrificing anything over a larger umbrella. The one-touch button releases the umbrella instantly, working flawlessly, and closing it is almost as effortless. The fabric repels rain which also makes it easier to close when you're about to step inside a shop or restaurant and need to shed any water. I appreciate the silver metallic color on the inside because it reflects what light there is on dark winter days and I believe helps with wind resistance. Plus, you can just feel and see the quality. It isn't some cheapo supermarket/drugstore quality. Super glad I ordered this and look forward to using it for years.
