This umbrella is larger and easier to handle than I expected, definitely a benefit. I am on a walker and only have about 40% use of one of my hands, the handle is easy for me to maneuver and the way it opens is safer and convenient for me. Might buy another one.

Pros -Reverse umbrella, water stays inside when closed upwards. -It can stand on its own. -It is wind resist -It looks very unique Cons or My "if only it have this" -I can't open it with one hand. -The "C" shaped handle does not give me a grip when going it with one hand, during windy weather. -The "C" shaped handle is used for one wrist use, to keep a hands free experience. Which is only used when its sunny, because if its raining, your face will get smacked by the rain with the wind. -The "C" shaped handle within the gap, only fits the thin tables. If the table or desk thickness is more than the thickness of around 0.59 inches, it will not fit to hang on a flat surface thought the gap. -If only the umbrella of this product has a Larger radius, it would be perfect for 2 people without worries about the rain dripping from the sides to your shoulder. -If only the umbrella tip has a place to let the dripping water stay in one place when closed. -I do not know why the title is labeled "For Women", it's title wasn't like that one year ago, but just saying maybe for marketing purposes, they labeled it as "For Women", even though its Unisex, meaning no gender labeling. Matte/satin grip peels after 2 separate uses of getting wet. I'm going to repaint it and see if it holds up. Shiny slick plastic underneath. Good size not too big or small imo. Handle is convenient for looping over your forehand but must rest it against your neck/shoulder to keep it in place. Didn't test in extreme wind but a couple gusts I felt try to pull it away from me and the top seemed to vent just fine. Even if it flips upwards that's how it's meant to fold anyway. ... show more

Received mine a few days ago and I am disappointed with it. The first thing you notice, other then it not weighing much, is that it’s basically just made of hard plastic and feels cheap to me. I did attempt to bend it (I wasn’t going to try hard) and it did not budge so it seems like very strong plastic, but I had read so many brand reviews, and I know some of them are made out of carbon fiber or metal or something and that is definitely what I would choose next time. About to go for a walk tonight and the umbrella would not open properly. Again, it is just a few days old. Very disappointing, it seems one of the joints in the frame is screwed up, it might be disconnected inside. I tried very gingerly to get them all to fold and unfold properly and eventually I got it open but you can tell by looking at the umbrella on top that something is not unfolded properly. This is just a one person umbrella FYI, I knew that so that’s fine but in the questions it is answered with being a two person umbrella easily which is completely not true. You need about a 50-55 inch umbrella for two people,, this one is around 43 inches. I was looking forward to the C-shaped handle (since we are all booked on our phones now), but it does not work as well as I’d hoped to. Unless you have gigantic forearms to jam it onto, you end up having to push it all the way to your elbow and I would imagine some ladies might even be able to get it past her elbow. You still need to balance it on your shoulder and kind of babysit it which pretty much leaves you with still only one hand. So: it’s nice that it’s lightweight, but unfortunately feels cheap. And opening it tonight and getting stuck with something wrong tells me that it is cheap. I would look for another brand that explains what materials they made it out of and go with a different brand even if it’s seven dollars-$15 more Sorry if that is frustrating but I would choose a different brand :-/ ... show more

UPDATE: A Sharpty representative got back to me and sent a replacement umbrella with no questions asked and apologized for the inconvenience. Umbrella seems to be made pretty well. Whatever broke the old one must have been a pretty significant force. Will update if I encounter anymore issues. For now, umbrella is nice. Waiting to hear back from Customer service. The umbrella arrived with a broken off handle. I hope it is a fluke and will be rectified. ... show more

This is a really cool umbrella. Tho' it is not a "short" umbrella, the way it closes, keeps the rain away from you when you close it up. I got the orange and black colors as it is the school colors of the recipient. Seems very well made - very sturdy.

My wife uses this for both sun and rain protection, as we send a lot of time at outdoor events. It's a great product, well built and sturdy. It does not fold over when a wind gust hits. The only con is the loop handle, as it can catch on things in transport. The loop it over your arm idea here is not really functional. ... show more

I paid $18.99 for mine after Thanksgiving, but should've waited to buy today at $13.74. It's an ok umbrella. Yes, it's novel that it works 'reverse' than a traditional one. People were amused when I brought it to work. My complaints is the overall quality. When I first received it, the material wasn't attached to one of the spokes. I had to pull it over to make it open correctly. The 'tip' should have a protective cap or something similar. When stored standing up, the material of umbrella touches the floor without any sort of protection. Over time, it'll discolor and may even tear. Overall feeling is flimsy.
