When you need a permanent marker, this is it. Here's the catch and why I took away a star yet didn't take it away - if that makes sense. When thinking your typical 'permanent' marker, I think the good 'ol sharpie marker. With that I can label metal cans, plastic jars, among various things. Also if I needed to erase what I wrote, just wipe it away with alcohol. That's the catch. These oil based markers are 1000% times harder to remove with alcohol. So keep that in mind - you want permanent, you got it. You want something you can erase with alcohol, better stick with the Sharpies we all know very well. ... show more

I had originally purchased these markers for writing names on my whiteboard desk instead of paper name tags. I did like how easy these were to use and how dark they made the writing. I just didn’t like how hard these were to remove from the desk. I know they could be removed using dry erase markers but all that did was ruin my dry erase markers. Yo ok so I'm kinda really dumb and I wanted to draw some cool designs on my steel frame bike but I was like "there's no way this stuff holds on for more than a few days in the sun and rain" so I did a few stupid looking doodles to test how well it would stay on and see whether I needed to get a clearcoat and... Hooooo boy. This stuff does not come off metal easily. I panicked after about three days seeing zero change in the marker's boldness so I got a cloth with water and started rubbing and nothing came off. So then I'm like "yep, I'm the dumbest man alive" and started going through solvents. Here's a list: -Water: no -dish soap: no -isopropyl alcohol: ok a little bit but my rag started disintegrating before I got even part of a doodle off -WD-40: negative -naphtha: SURELY the thing that dissolves chewing gum will work, right? No. Not at all. -Acetone: regrettably, I do not paint my nails, so I don't have any lying around. No data, but my guess is it's probably the most effective. Ok so yeah anyway 10/10 permanence and boldness. Time to be very careful about my drawings from here on out. Might even be making stencils. ... show more

We used these on a slab wood wedding signing board and they worked great, I tested this and a regular sharpie on a piece of pine scrap and there were small noticable differences in quality. Worth the money if it's for something special!

I've used plant markers with my garden for YEARS. These are the first ones that don't sun-bleach to invisibility. I can't tell you how many times I checked a marker to see specifics about a plant only to not be able to read it. I even got the "permanent" ones. But the paint-based are THE BOMB!
