  • The folded spots had a couple color blemishes
Size: 14' (Fabric 13' 2") Color: Charcoal Fade
It's a pretty stout awning fabric it came ready to install packed well too it took 20 minutes to do the whole job the color is beautiful a great fade from dark to light had a couple color flaws where it was folded for packaging but this is common on any brand so we have vinyl due markers and touch those up soon as we open it overall I really like this product it's a great value for the price My customer loves it said it looks so much nicer than the striped awning they had the fade is more modern and allows more lights ght to come through and still provide great shade ... show more
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2024 by This is a nice unit it's easy to install however it's supposed to come with a bracket to mount the thermostat control on a wall and never includes it in the box it's would be much easier also if it had the knob control option as it can be a knoghmsre to run the extra wires for the wall mount control but this AC units runs smooth and quiet and has a great product warranty that's extendable for another 3 years the air deflector is not as nice as say domestic to control the air flow direction at the ceiling but it does the job none the less my customers like the system vans the attractive appearance of the unit on their rv roof and it's much lighter than a Coleman or recpro unit and most dometic AC units

  • Fits perfect!
Size: 16' (Fabric 15' 2") Color: Solid White
Fairly easy to install having never done one before. Knowing how your canopy works internally on the reel is a plus, especially setting tension. Tensioning guideline is a little off for correct retraction. Sixteen foot says eight turns, however went twelve a to get a good retraction but yet not something that would slam the side of the camper. Looks great and with proper measuring, rolls up perfect for storage. Great material and sewing. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Perfect Awning!
Size: 16' (Fabric 15' 2") Color: Solid Black
Different material than our old dry rotted awning, was super easy to put on and looks great! Looking forward to hot summer days at the camper with this. Perfect.

  • Good awning from a good company!
Nice awning, inexpensive and good looking. Tough enough to hold up to my single-handed installation. A few suggestions if you install it yourself. Mainly: DON'T do this without help. If you do, it's very difficult and time consuming. 1. Use a feed cover if at all possible, Dometic suggests it. Otherwise, bend and smooth the edges of the "feed ramp" where the awning goes into the tube. I used pliers and a Dremel to polish the ends smooth. 2. Use plenty, lots, of Silicone spray lubricant on the channels, both on the tube and the one attached to the RV. Add more as the stuff gets rubbed off the feed ramps. 3. I installed the awning onto the tube in the rolled position, then fed it into the RV slot unrolled using three ladders, two to hold the tube/awning and one to feed the awning into the RV slot. 4. Then unrolled the awning so I could work from the ground when tightening the springs. My Dometic A&E Heavy Duty 8500 springs took 12 turns to roll up correctly. 8 is specified if the awning is rolled up, 4 more are required because it was unrolled (extended). 5. Vice grips are essential when tightening the springs, but Dometic has some kind of crank that I don't have. Also "lock" the springs in place once they're wound tight. Mine has two holes in each spring cap and a corresponding hole in the spring rod. A thin nail or cotter pin slips through the cap holes and the rod hole to prevent the spring from unwinding. I used nails and learned to tape them securely because they fall out when winding the other side. A long cotter pin that goes all the way through the spring cap can be bent to prevent this. The Grey Fade paint scratches off easily, so be very careful. Again, get one other person to help with this, it will save a ton of effort and maybe some grief. It was my first time installing one of these, I even watched youtube videos (which were not Dometic) but consider myself fortunate to have not torn the awning. The end result is very nice. ... show more

  • Perfect replacement for worn/ torn awning
Size: 12' (Fabric 11' 2") Color: Slate Blue Fade
We got this to replace our awning that had a good sized tear in it that we had repaired. Surprisingly the repair tape had held so far, but with a long trip coming up, we didn't want to tempt fate. We ordered this as a replacement and after watching a couple vids on how to do it with the method where you remove the roller, got to work. All in all, it took my wife and I about 1.5 hours to do. We did learn a few things though that I hope may help someone else. These are in no way a reflection of the product. The replacement awning was perfect. Color is great, fabric is great, and honestly, seemed to be better made than the original we took off. The issues we had with install were minor, but of our own doing. First of all, if you do this method where you unwind tension with vice grips and remove a cap be sure to use proper length rivets when you reinstall the cap. Especially at the hole that is nearest the lever for rolling down and up. If you use too long of a rivet here, it wont allow you to flip the lever all the way and wont allow you to roll up all the way. Use a shorter rivet in this hole. Also, if you have to take the awning back down to re-do something as we had to do with drilling out and replacing that rivet, be certain you put a pin of some sort back in the opposite side. We took it out to test and forgot. When we pulled the awning back out, the tension unwound on that side. Not a huge deal, just had to rewind it the same amount of turns as we did on the other side and slide a pin in. Also, as many videos have said, USE SILICONE SPRAY!!! This was huge. Spray both the upper track as well as the tracks on the roller bar. Made sliding in the new beads so much easier. On our application I was kinda bewildered it went in so easy. Especially since the bead ends on the new awning are actually thicker than the original. Bottom line, this is well worth it and any capable DIY'er should be able to do it with an extra set of hands. if you try to do it on your own, you will almost certainly end up throwing tools and cussing at the job. Do yourself a favor, swallow your pride, and have someone ready to help. ... show more
