Take pics of the awning that you are removing, focus on the position in camper side rail, roller, and other areas that one may overlook. Make sure awning is secured at roller first before securing to side rail. Awning needs to be squared up. This replacement awning was slightly longer than original. There is slight sag in the middle even after resetting the pitch. When rolled up, idler arm doesn’t sit against camper as original did due to material length issue. I have a 1989 carriage Victoria 5th wheel camper that I'm assuming the awning was original I needed to replace it my local shop wanted about $600 to make me a new one I read all the reviews on Amazon about this one so I decided to buy it I finally got around to installing it today and I could not be happier with the quality of the product and ease of installation it had been better if I had another person but I was able to do it by myself wasn't easy taking into 18 ft awning but if anybody's interested in replacing theirs versus going to a local company to have it repaired I would say in my personal opinion as a mechanic get it because this company is top-notch very very happy with my purchase and I will include pictures at a later point in time ... show more

After watching a couple of videos on YouTube, my wife and I removed the old awning and installled this new Sunpro 13’-2” cover in less than 90 minutes. We are accustomed to repair work so it wasn’t too difficult yet you MUST BE CAREFUL when winding up the springs on each end of spool! The forward end locks so no worries, but the rear spool cap must be wound and held in place with vice grips while installing cap. It can break or slice you hand if the wrench pops off! Also be sure to file down the edges of track that the cord slides into. I Fikes the edges on the roof track ends and both ends of the spool where you feed the material into it.     • Great DIY project for your RV
Size: 18' (Fabric 17' 2") Color: Charcoal Fade
Existing awning was disintegrating so I went ahead and ordered a replacement. Delivery was quick and pleased with fabric quality. Installation is mostly straight forward ( I watched a couple of you tubes to see how to sequence the task) and the instructions included were also helpful. I picked a sunny day and laid out the new awning on the ground to "warm" the fabic, reduce wrinkles from shipment, and make it easier to handle. Followed the instructions including the important step of pinning the spring before removing anything from the existing wornout awning. The most awkward part was feeding the new awning through the groove on the RV moulding. Since I was doing this myself, I rigged up a pulley at the far end and used a length of cording to enable to both push and pull the fabic. Took about 10 minutes to work it through but no real problems getting that done. Reversed the steps followed to disassemble and was finished in about an hour. this was a moderately difficult DIY project as you have to follow steps in sequence and be up on a ladder multiple times. Be careful as it can be awkward handling the fabric while on the ladder and especially careful of locking the spring tension on the roller mechanism. The new awing acts and looks like new. This was fairly easy to install by myself except for starting the shade into the RV slot. You definitely need 2 for that. For some reason following the install video I couldn’t get my retraction mechanism to coil properly. Winding it the opposite way of the video worked though. Could be different model? ... show more

Great quality but… it’s definitely black! Unfortunately our camp site has no trees so no shade so.. this awning helps with shade but holds a lot of heat! I thought it would be more on the gray side… but it’s black.

I’d suggest watching some how to videos on how to replace no matter what brand you choose. This was awesome, took 4 men to tear the old one down and install this one. Looks fabulous! Highly recommend.
