For me, my mattress with no box spring covers most of the wooden headboard so it wasn't a big deal BUT the wood was chipped. That was my only worry with this model was the two large pieces of that "wood" slab shipping to my home with no damage. Everything is packaged well, took me about an hour to put together myself, a LOT of stuff to through away after putting it together as far as boxes and wrappings and foam but I'd rather it be overstuffed with padding like that I guess. Overall, for the price and the look I'm very happy with it, I feel like the headboard took the bulk of the time to put together and then the rest you could kind of build off the headboard so it was good. The chips I was able to mostly hide either on the backside of the bed that faces the wall or with my mattress covering it anyway so no harm no foul. Still can't give it 5 though because of that. ... show more

I recently moved into my first solo apartment. Since it is a studio, I wanted an aesthetically pleasing bedframe that wasn't too bulky and didn't break the bank. This frame met all of those needs! It's the first thing you see when you walk into the door and it looks great. It's very sturdy and the rubber inserts that lock the metal slats in keep them from creaking and rattling getting in and out of bed. There are grips on the top parts of the side rails that keep the mattress from sliding around. If you have hard flooring, the legs have enough grip to keep the bed planted with normal use, but it is easy to slide and move the bed at least on laminate to clean or rearrange it. Like other reviews mentioned, it comes very well packed with all the parts clearly labelled and easy to follow directions and diagrams. The wrench provided is enough to assemble the bed. The box was very heavy, so you definitely want to have a hand in moving. I was able to assemble it myself in about 2 hours, but it is faster and safer to have two people, especially when you have to attach the first side to the headboard as neither part is stable on their own. The only thing I wish was that the head board was a little taller so that more of the wood is visible with four pillows on it. I have a 10" mattress on it for reference. Definitely doesn't need a boxspring. Really cannot recommend this bed enough! ... show more

This is a sturdy bed frame so far and if you just follow the directions it goes together fairly easy. I liked the fact that the threads were all in place and actually matched. I also liked the fact that a 14 inch mattress fits well. In my opinion, for the money, it's hard to beat, but mine is only a couple weeks old. The one con and is kinda of a big one is the mattress will slide around until wieght is applied. I purchased mattress stoppers for the sides, about $10-15 dollars. Had they included these, I would of rated it a 5. I'm confident the bed gets more use than just sleeping, so if you order this and it is a good deal, get the .78 mattress stoppers also, the rails are .75 but get the ones with screws so you can easily tighten them up. ... show more

I’ve had this bed for two years and have waited until now to write a review. I LOVE the LOOK of this bed. It’s beautiful. The design, however, leaves much to be desired. The support slats are the problem. They are designed to just slide into holes in the frame of the bed. That means if the bed shifts even a little, they will pop out and your mattress will sag in that area. That means that getting in and out of bed(moving the bed frame) has these things CONSTANTLY popping out. It’s infuriating. Im fixing them daily. I finally broke down and bought another bed. Pretty disappointed in the design of this bed. I don’t really recommend it unless it won’t be used daily (maybe for a guest room?). I gave it 2 stars simply because I love the look of it ... show more

I bought this because I have a temperpedic mattress and the base that goes with it, I was unable to bring it upstairs due to how the house and stairs are made. Assembling was east, however, the bed was not well supported with this base to sleep in. I slept in it for a weeks with severe back pain, insomnia overall discomfort to the point I brought the mattress back to its original base. If the return cost wasn’t so high I would’ve returned it.
