    • Lifelong fly fisherman have used Maxima tippets most of my life...
But where I've been fishing the last few years the large fish are very well educated 3 lb Maxima tip it is sometimes too light and will break off a large fish 4 lb is too thick and the fish will see it and they won't take your fly. After a lot of trying other brands and fluorocarbon, this stuff is a really nice compromise! Caught several very large fish with it only had maybe one break off and that was a really large fish over 21 inches who knows how many pounds. Great strength and price point! For the price this will definitely get you fishing. The tippet holder is good and performs as expected. The tippet is not the greatest quality and tends to unravel from the spool. This will work but when you fish often it becomes a hassle to deal with a rats nest of tippet.
