I have an older juki DDL 555 4. it came with a 50lb clutch motor that went from 0 to 60 so fast vin diesel eanted it for the next fast and furious movie. So i bought this this little engine that could. Installation...was not exactly a breeze. The directions are...not so much directions, more like a puzzle you found on the back of the declaration of independence. The wording is weird and theres a part listed as a "spring" but its actually just a bunch of washers used for spacing. At first i thought the part was missing, i assure you there were no missing parts, just mislabeled. The adjusting height bolt was a bit of a pain to install as well, but youtube pulled through for me yet again. I didnt have to make the hole for the belt in my table bigger, i just installed as far right as i could. Oddly enough, i didnt need to buy a new belt either, it is slightly loose but it still works. Might install a smaller pulley wheel later, which should slow the machine even more, giving more control. Now onto performance. The sewtco is night and day compared to the old clutch motor. Way more control and slower speeds. Not to mention theres no sound. There have been issues when sewing, but i think it may be the limitations of my particular machine and not the motor itself. I think i need a walkingfoot machine. But i was able to sew through 4layers of heavy nylon spandex and 2 layers of nylon webbing without TOO much trouble. As previously stated i think i need a walkingfoot machine. As for the longevity of the motor....idk. havent used it that long to say really. But its held up so far, and i highly reccomend it if youre looking to dumo the clutch. Well worth the price thus far. ... show more

    • Works great, but...
As stated in other reviews instructions are minimal and obsolete. This seller is 10% less than others. The product is the same and it arrived next day. I installed this on a Juki 8700. YouTube says it's a 30 minute job. Yeah, sure. in my case I swapped out an existing servo motor. One of the mounting bolts was an inch too long. The belt tightener was too short and needed to be shimmed to the left and the motor moved to the right. It took me awhile to figure everything out. It all depends on what motor is being replaced. You can find current instructions (still minimal) on Consew's website and their customer service is very helpful. The product works great. It is definitely worth the effort. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I’m happy that I ordered this servo motor, works perfect! No more noise while I'm sewing, first time switching the motor, my husband used some YouTube videos to help him on the installation.     • Awesome motor that puts user in control
The media could not be loaded. Great motor. Much more control than the clutch motors. It will go as slow or fast as you want it to. Anyone with a little mechanical inclination can install. Instructions aren’t very clear, but self explanatory for most. I would also suggest purchasing the needle position sensor with it. Overall, I’m very pleased with motor. ... show more
