  • Not too dusty, not too thick, not too thin
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
I love soft toilet paper, like Charmin and Cottonelle, but in a household with 3 girls and only 1 man, we would go through a roll in a day. Also, the other super-soft brands are so dusty, not to mention too thick--resulting in double and triple flushes to make sure a plunge wasn't needed. The trouble with other thinner brands (Quilted Northern), was that they were two-ply (always coming apart--for some reason the two-ply that separates bothers me--especially when only one ply starts rolling and the other stays on) and to flimsy. So, we tried this. Ecofriendly too. We joke that we use "recycled toilet paper" and our friends give us a funny look :) But, using recycled paper toilet paper makes us feel good, and the sheets are not too thick but sturdy. If you have tummy troubles and need something extra cushy for your tushy, this may not be for you, but for the normal user, this works. We've used it for years and haven't switched. Another great and amazing feature: 60 in a case. SIXTY! Since there's plenty of paper on the roll, I don't have to change it every week, And, I always have a case or two in the basement to turn to. We use subscribe and save for these, and I don't mind when I forget and get a shipment sooner than necessary because I love not having to buy tp at the store. I started ordering this when my children were younger and hauling them and a cart full of groceries and a case of toilet paper to the car was a chore. The more I can get delivered to my door, the better. Cases of tp right to my house = perfect. So, yes, it's thin, but it's sturdy. A roll lasts us several days for sure, and I don't make my kids measure squares--just pull it out, rip it off, and use what you need. It's not going to clog! It's not expensive! And I won't have to change the roll by the end of the day or go to the store for another case. (oh, and no fuzzy pieces to worry about sticking in unwanted places or making dust all over the place--very minimal dust). One last comment: it starts easy (no peeling and tearing and part rolling off), and it ends clean--no bits left stuck to the roll, so you can use the leftover rolls for kids' crafts without bits or glue left on. ... show more

  • If you're looking for 'green' toilet paper, this is your best value
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
What many people don't understand about going 'green' with a lot of everyday consumer products is that it's not just changing a brand name - it's a process of resetting your expectations and standards. The first step may seem awkward, but once you've gotten used to it, your old choices will seem just as strange to you, if not worse. For example, the first 'green' change I made about 20 years ago was moving away from big-name toothpaste. I used to use the Colgates and Crests of the world, and at first the non-mainstream toothpaste (it may have been Tom's, in their earlier days) seemed strange to me. But after a while, using the familiar mainstream stuff was like brushing my teeth with cake icing. Grotesque. I didn't need all the chemicals they pumped their products full of, and I was happier after the change. Same with this TP. If you're jumping to this straight from some kind of thick, ultra-plush, perfumed big-corporate brand, you're going to be surprised - you'll probably think this seems fairly thin and unsubstantial. But once you use it for a while, the old stuff will start to seem like a crazy, wasteful choice. You'll wonder why you needed that much material - wasteful, and irresponsibly sourced - for the most mundane task there is. And at that point, you'll have freed yourself from having your expectations set by wasteful corporate excess. You'll realize that you don't need all of that extra waste for a simple task. This TP works great, and does everything my family needs it to do. And this packaging is a very good value - much better than buying the plastic-wrapped multi-packs in the stores (those rolls are smaller and cost more) or buying these same individual rolls that way. What you'll receive is a large cardboard box filled with stacks of individually paper-wrapped rolls. That means that every single bit of what you receive is biodegradable and recyclable. Recycle the paper wrapping, use the paper, recycle the roll, recycle the box. And just like that, you've gone through a multi-month supply of TP without any plastic, toxic waste. Find a little space in your storage room for the box, and "going to the store to get more TP" will mean going to your basement. Convenient, responsible, and a good product. ... show more

  • Cleaner Choice, Higher Price
Size: 12 Count (Pack of 4)
I like that this toilet paper is made with fewer chemicals and feels like a cleaner option for my family. It's nice to find a product that aligns with a more natural lifestyle without sacrificing too much on quality. The rolls are strong enough for everyday use and I've been happy with the overall performance. My only complaint is the price—it’s definitely more expensive than many other toilet paper brands. If it were a little more affordable, it would easily earn 5 stars. Overall, a good product and one I feel good about using, but be prepared to pay a premium. ... show more

  • less sheets, greater weight, lower price (for now)
Size: 12 Count (Pack of 4)
i am no soft toilet paper aficionado, so i cannot speak to the merits of wiping with heavenly silken clouds versus heavy grit emery cloth. i did however notice that my recently delivered order of (4 packages@12 rolls each) 7th generation tp comprised rolls of 240 sheets as opposed to the 300 sheet rolls i'd historically received. this matters to me because i use the stuff for more than just polishing my bum – i sneeze into it, blow my nose into it, use it for various cleaning duties that do not require the stoutness of a paper towel, et cetera. comparing my 14 july order of this stuff with my 21 december order, i find that both claim 4"x4" sheets; both claim to have been 100% recycled, and to have a minimum of 50% post consumer recycled content; both take up the same amount of space in the hall closet. contrasting them i find that the 14 july order cost $33.80, and the 21 december 2017 price is $28.96. this reflects a 14% lower price for 20% less sheets. but wait, it gets more weird – the new stuff has more pronounced embossing or texturing, and appears to be more loosely rolled to maintain the diameter of the packaged product. now for the true nerd nonsense: i actually weighed eight rolls from each of the two selections and came up with an average weight of 98.4375 grams per roll for the old stuff, and 102.525 grams per roll of the new stuff. this means paying 14% less for 4% more weight. i am not about to strip the rolls and weigh the tubes, but deforming them at the ends of the full rolls, the tubes seem pretty consistent between the two shipments of shpinc wipes. conclusion? too much spare time. the price on this crapwrap fluctuates so frequently that none of this likely means much. i guess the takeaway is that maybe 7th gen has responded to some of the complaints by fattening the sheets and reducing the count. (UPDATE) it's august of 2018, and in the eight months since i put up this review a couple of more shipments of this stuff have come in. the inconsistencies continue. the price still fluctuates wildly, and both the width and thickness have varied, though the heavily embossed thing went away. of course i also do not know how long one or another of these cases have been sitting in some warehouse from a previous generation of the product. i have not bothered to do the weighing thing again because i am confident that doing so a dozen more times would not reveal a trend in any direction i guess the only long term trend one could anticipate would be that the price will go up and the quality will go down – just like everything else (except microprocessors). ... show more

  • Good for the Environment; Good for my Budget; Comfortable to Use
Size: 4 Count (Pack of 12)
Okay--this isn't the very softest toilet paper out there, but it definitely isn't the harshest either. A major brand talks in their ad about "pieces left behind", and I've actually experienced that situation more with softer, premium, virgin-paper brands. This paper is made with recycled fiber, so it isn't a brilliant white color (bleached-white toilet tissue isn't good for the environment or for your body). As an example--I also use TP as facial tissue during the cold/flu season--this is soft enough on a sensitive nose but doesn't fall apart when you are blowing (anybody else realize how difficult it is to write politely about certain body functions? LOL) I love the Subscribe and Save option so I never run out and don't have to haul toilet paper (a lightweight but bulky item) home on the bus. The pricing per sheet is certainly comparable to store offerings. So, what's not to like? It's easy on the budget, easy on the environment, and easy on the body parts...that's worth 5 stars in my book! ... show more

  • Strong, soft toilet paper
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
This toilet paper does the job very well. It is strong, soft, not lint-y, and each roll lasts a long time. My favorite recycled brand is actually Marcal, which feels like silk sheets, but ultimately went with Seventh Generation because it has a higher post consumer waste minimum (50% min for Seventh Gen and 30% min for Marcal). Some reviews say that this TP is too thin and rough. Sure, it's not as cushy as Charmin, nor does it glide like silk across your butt, but I have never experienced discomfort. It feels cushy enough, does not rip or disintegrate, and gives a clean wipe. It's definitely not like the gas station toilet paper that comes in a big heavy jumbo roll that is too flimsy to even support you pulling off more than a tiny fistful at a time. In terms of waste, I appreciate that these Seventh Generation rolls are strong and soft enough that I don't have to go back for more or even use an excessive amount in the first place. I also like that rolls are 500 sheets because I can't stand the idea of so many cardboard tube cores. The rolls were packaged minimally in one box (no plastic bubbles, no styro popcorn, no cushioning paper), with each roll wrapped individually with paper (which I prefer over plastic packaging). I guess TP preference is a personal thing, but if you're not looking for much, you will be surprised at the punch this TP roll can pack in terms of environmental friendliness, as well as personal comfort. ... show more
