I bought 2 of these. I assembled them. It didn't take 15 minutes. More like 2 hours. The first one took longer. I wanted to assemble them as soon as I could in case anything was wrong with the package. Nothing was.broken or missing. When finished, there were no extra parts. Included tools were a small phillips screwdriver and a t-handle allen wrench. They are almost adequate to fully assemble the chair Be careful NOT to overtighten screws. I recommend you don't use a cordless drill for that reason. If you do anyway, (like I did) just don't screw them in all the way and finish by hand. The only problem I had was I got a couple of pieces on backwards or upside down. The reason that happened is I had not looked closely on the instructions at the number of screwholes and their orientation. I did not have to drill any holes to correct this. I had to unassemble what I had done so far and put it back together properly. I recommend you look closely at the instructions and make sure things line up before tightening anything. It's pretty simple but the instructions are poor. We are very pleased with these chairs. I'm no youngster. I have arthritic hands and I managed to move the boxes, open them (very well packed!), and get them put together by myself (mostly). Do yourself a favor and get a decent screwdriver. I used the enclosed t-handle on the allens but found it awkward and frustrating to use, but it worked! Your results might be different but I am satisfied. Ok, you’re going to see lots of reviews that there is a missing pre drilled hole or that the instructions are difficult to follow, etc. I’m going to say this: if you are of average intelligence with an average mechanical ability and an average knowledge of common hand and power tools, you’ll have this thing put together within an hour. Pay attention to where the holes and the spacing of the holes in the instruction illustrations are located. If you think you need to drill holes, you put something together incorrectly, just go back and find out where you went wrong. Don’t listen to the reviews that say this is difficult to assemble. Theoretically it’s possible to assemble the chair using the tools included, but I’d be willing to bet a lot of people saying this chair was difficult to install used only the included tools instead of throwing them in the recycling bin and using a 10mm wrench, 4mm hex key (Allen wrench) and a #2 Phillips bit in a impact driver. Using those three tools made assembly easy. I, personally, was letting the impact break click twice when the hardware was snugged in and that seemed about right without it being over tight. ... show more

It appears that perhaps the manufacturer has taken note of the many reviews which noted the absence of pre-drilled pilot holes in these Adirondack folding chairs as all three of mine came with them. They all came undamaged and nicely packed. Construction was a breeze. The hubby and my daughter assembled all three in less than an hour and a half. A drill driver is still recommended even with the pre-drilled holes (it just makes it go faster and is less strenuous). One person can build these chairs however there will be moments in the construction where you’ll wish for that second person to hold a piece in place while you work on a screw or bolt. The chairs are sturdy and well made. I chose the apricot color and I’m not sure it’s a true apricot but I wanted orange and that’s what I got. Very happy with the shade. They seem a scooch on the small side size-wise. A big and tall person may be uncomfortable (if they fit). They are perfect for us and the space on the deck. Overall, we are very pleased with these chairs! If Serwall has updated their manufacturing process to include all holes to be pre-drilled, then I can’t think of any reason not to buy them. ... show more

If you can get this chair put together it is an awesome chair. That said, I am reasonably handy but I struggled to put this chair together. I tried to follow the enclosed directions which was a big mistake. At the time my wifi was not working and so I could not use the video that is on the Serwall website. The enclosed directions are useful for indicating which fasteners to use. Otherwise, just use the video for assembly directions. Pay attention to the orientation of the arms as this is key to getting this chair put together. One person can definitely put this chair together but it is easier with two (one to hold the wrench while one uses the Allen wrench to tighten the nuts/bolts). A drill is necessary as my chair did not have two of the holes pre-drilled. Now that the chair is put together it is an awesome chair. It is very sturdy and comfortable. The gray color is perfect and looks like the shade of gray that is in the description. Also, the material is definitely weather-proof. I purchased chair cushions from Wayfair for this chair and that has made it extra comfy to sit in. Bottom line: Use the directions for fasteners, use the Serwall website video for assembly, pay attention to the exact orientation of the arms, and do not drink wine when you assemble this chair. ... show more

These chairs and the table are great. I'm not tall and they fit me perfectly (one of the reasons we go for the folding chairs). I love the color and they seem durable (although we've only had them for a few days). We did have issues with assembly. The chairs we received did not have all the holes drilled. At first my husband said that we'd have to send them back (a pain when it comes to large items such as these). I read a few other Amazon reviews and sadly, this particular quality control issue (or lack thereof) seems to be a common problem. We finally did what so many others before us have done and drilled the missing holes ourselves so that we could finish assembling the chairs and the table. It just seems that there shouldn't be an issue like this for an otherwise high-quality product such as this. ... show more
