BACK STORY: I purchased this for a futon I keep in my nursery. At first, I used one of the thicker, cotton ones and while that was comfortable for a while, eventually it just got too flat to do anything but serve as a cover. As my babies got a little older and discovered jumping on the bed, they basically ruined some of the supports and springs so it would sag or you'll feel some of the wood frame dig into you. Needless to say, it was uncomfortable and I'd wake up in pain if I slept in it (it's temporary furniture until the kids sleep through the night so I don't want to get rid of it yet) Eventually, I just couldn't take it anymore and looked online until I discovered this topper. I thought given the good reviews and competitive price to other 2 inch ones, I'd give it a try. I HAVE NO REGRETS (so far)! I slep well now and do not wake up in pain or sore anymore (I'll update the review if that ever changes, this will eventually go on the guest bed). Honestly, I wish I got it sooner. ABOUT THE TOPPER: Personally, I do not find it to be hot and neither do my kids when they sneak in (and they do tend to get warm easily). It's comfortable, and soft. If you prefer a firmer topper/mattress, this is probably too soft though. I don't think I would say it's necessarily "cooling" but, as I said before, it doesn't make me hot either. It will retain shape for a little while (a few seconds really) and then it'll slowly go back to normal. Opening there was no unusual or chemical smell; it just smelled like foam, but after leaving it on the bed with the ceiling fan on to vent, even that was gone within a few hours. Definitely pleased with this purchase.

Bought a new bed 2 years ago. I went from a queen memory foam mattress to a king pillow top comfort coil mattress. Felt great at the store but never wore in like that at home. Bought this to help with softness and body pain. Love it and sleep so well. Not firm and feels like you’re on a cloud.

I bought a mattress that ended up being too firm. First I bought a 3 inch topper which was too much foam for me. Then I bought a 1.5 which was a complete waste of money. Finally I bought this one and I'm so glad I did. It is a firm foam not memory so there is some resistance when you lay on it. No odor. Doesnt seem to be hot at all. Overall a good purchase.

So I bought another memory foam topper that after 5 hrs was still as flat as when unwrapped. Looked like it was melted so returned it. This one came in a zippered fabric like case ( will use to store comforters, so thanks) and rolled in shrink wrap. It looks fully expanded after an hour. I think it will be perfect. I had a serta all memory foam mattress previously but it stopped giving me the needed support after 2 yrs. I bought a hybrid mattress to replace it, but the pressure points are killing me after about a year with it. I was able to rip a piece of the gel foam from the top of the old mattress ( planning to make my dog a bed) but tried on top of my hybrid and it’s what I need, so ordered this topper. Fingers crossed but expecting good results. I guess order from a mattress company that knows what’s it’s doing! Kohls wanted $200 for a queen - on 50% off sale.

Helps to relieve pressure points for side sleepers but may take a few nights to get use to. Quality memory foam that disperses weight evenly without excessive sinking. May take 24-48 hours to fully expand. I placed my topper under my mattress cover to keep it in place and it hasn't shifted. Overall I'm very satisfied and highly recommend this topper to help give you a better night's sleep.

Our memory foam mattress is too firm, so we chose to buy a topper to relieve some pain. This is incredibly comfortable, but it moves all around the bed, and you have to take your sheets off to fix it. Currently, it is shifted 3 inches off of two edges of the bed. It's extremely annoying. That said, when it is in place, it's very comfortable and provides a good night's sleep. The cats adore it, one even kneading his paws into it the first time he sat on it. It does not provide much in the way of cooling on hot nights, but it at least doesn't get as hot as a memory foam mattress. At best, it is neutral in terms of temperature.
