Really impressed with this unit given the price point. I purchased this after after the lineset on my mini split went bad to keep the main floor of my house comfortable. So far, it's been up to the task. It's not unreasonably loud and very easy to install. The only gripe I have with it is the window seal. It doesn't have the greatest fit and is designed to be held in with screws, so you lose the ability to quickly open and close the window. The biggest surprise is how good the unit is about evaporating the condensate. We had a very hot, muggy day where a smaller 7600BTU unit in a bedroom had to be drained 3 times and at the end of the day when I decided to drain this unit, about 2 ounces of water came out. The drain position isn't very good, but it looks like it won't be something that requires constant attention. All in all, extremely happy with this purchase and will look to replace the old unit in the bedroom with a SereneLife. ... show more

We live rural and in temps no hotter than about 95 degrees for about 3 hours it really helps our 1000 sqft room stay perfectly cool. My wife would say cold. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the remote doesn't know what the unit is doing. So if I do not start the unit with the remote, when I finally go to use the remote after the unit is powered on manually it changes all the setting, meaning when its on low if you hit the remote it speeds the fan up from low to medium. I don't use the dehumidifier seems a hassle with dripping water into a bucket. Haven't felt the need yet. Id say its a really good machine. Overall its quiet, no louder than a wall ac in a hotel. not the window ac type the one in hotels where the panel is against the wall. It will freeze you out if you set it that low, I try to get some longevity out of stuff so we keep it at about 79 and its perfect. I've set it down to 65 and it throws ice cubes. Its a heavy unit at 14000btu but its on wheels so its ez to move around. The kit to the window didn't fit in my window very well, so I went to the dollar store and bought a couple pool noodles to even out and seal better where the kit didn't. I did buy another exhaust kit so I didn't have to keep removing from the main room to the bed room window. It was a good solution for me. We are enjoying having this AC makes our summer home even more enjoyable. I have to use a blanket to sleep when normally I only use a sheet. Love that! Purchased this less than a year ago and does not work. Contacted support over a month ago, they told me they would send a replacement. That was 30 days ago, just getting the run around. Buy from a company that provides support, don’t even bother with this.

If you look at my review history, I am as critical as you can be on items. Very few things live up to my expectations nowadays, and this was a very pleasant exception. Worked out of the box just as it should, was simple to install with just common sense; didn't even look at the instructions, and this is my 4th portable AC I have installed now, and this one BY FAR had the easiest exhaust hose installation I've ever seen. Everything actually fit together snug and I didn't have to use any tape at all to make up for poor craftsmanship. I can't rate this AC highly enough, thinking about buying another to replace a perfectly good Black and Decker just because this AC is so much higher quality. ... show more

It is a pretty good product. Although, it's fairly loud when the AC is engaged. No advice about cleaning condenser coils, which should be performed at least twice every cooling season.
