  • Good Headset for Xbox One - Adjust Xbox Settings before Using!
Color: Black
Overview: I bought this for my son who has an Xbox One console. I didn't want to spend a large amount of money on a wireless headset. I eventually landed on these. First, no you do not need a controller adapter like the instructions lead you to believe for the Xbox One controller. You can just plug the 3.5mm plug from the headset directly into the controller jack. Second, my son has a fairly large head and these fit well despite that. Third, this headset will seem to be very low volume if you plug it right in, and try to use it with max volume on the headset cable. See more on that below. Volume Adjustment: What you need to do before using, is go to the Xbox controller settings for the controller you will have the headset plugged into. Then, adjust the volume knob all the way down to minimum volume on the headset cord first. After that, set the volume slider all the way to max in the controller settings in the Xbox settings screen. Once you do that, adjust the controller volume as high as you need it. What this does is calibrates the volume levels so you can adjust the volume higher on the headset. Of course, you should be careful not to make it too loud at this point to avoid damaging your hearing! The Mic: The mic on this headset seems to work well. I was playing local games with my son on our local network between our Xboxes. And this headset had no issues picking up and transmitting his voice clearly. He also said that the headset was comfortable for the 4 hours we were playing. Final Thoughts: I noticed there was another reviewer proclaiming these headphones are made of metal. I can assure you these are NOT made of metal. They are made of a durable ABS or similar plastics with coating on them like most other headsets. Keep in mind the price. Not even headsets that are in the $200-300 range are made of metal materials. If they made these out of metal materials, they would easily be many times the price. This is not a con per se. But it is a consideration to be careful of the exaggerated claims of some reviewers. Aside from all of this, if you want a quality headset for Xbox One at a good price, and wired is okay. This should work great, and I recommend! ... show more

  • Great headset, and not just great for the price either
Color: Black
These are great headphones, not just for the price, but in general. I just got my 2nd pair, the first lasted me four years but after accidentally yanking the cord out a few too many times the sound started to go out one side. I actually got a pair of razor blackshark v3's but the build quality was so poor, the sound quality so hollow and flat, that I immediately returned them and ordered another pair of these. The build quality on these is exceptional compared to all the leading brands that are at the very least 2x the price. They look cool without having all the flashy LED's and you can immediately tell they're solid and well built. They're perfect for gaming, watching movies, taking calls, whatever you need. The sound quality is rich and detailed and the mic comes through perfectly clear. They're by no means noise cancelling, but the sound isolation on these is much better than brands that I've tried that advertise that as a particular feature. These are by far the best headphones I own, and I consider myself a bit of an audiophile. If you're on the fence about these and think you need to spend $150 to get a good set, think again. You definitely won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • *Updated review, a year later* Great value for the range it gives you!
Color: Black
*Update, a year later* TLDR; If on PC, out the box may need a DAC and installing an equalizer APO to really open up the range of these headphones. Construction holds up alright, but after a year one hinge has broken. Fortunately, I can kind of just put it back in the hole and make it work. I bought this headset around a year ago. Initially, I was disappointed to find that the audio was frankly terrible. It sounded like I was listening to music through cardboard. I was going to return it but quite frankly, I didn't want to wait to return it and spend more time finding a different affordable headset. Instead, I figured that I'd make do and try to make it work, typically within my nature. I bought a SoundBlaster Play 3 DAC, hooked everything up and.. wow. It opened up the range quite a bit. --SOUND-- There is a LOT of range in these headphones. Go to the bottom of my review for the complete frequency specification as listed on the box it came with (I couldn't find it on the listing at the time of buying it). It naturally places emphasis on mids, but that can be finetuned down. Frequency response is advertised as low as 20hz, but I'm actually able to control frequencies in the 10Hz range. I can make the bass as punchy and rumbly as I need to and bring out the crispness of a stack cymbal. Not even going to lie, just plugging it into a USB DAC like SoundBlaster Play! 3 was good enough. These headphones are very good for people on PC willing to fiddle a little with audio settings. I'm not an audiophile, I understand that music is mix/mastered differently across genres but I'm able to get just about what I want out of these headphones. I listen to genres across the spectrum - jazz, classical, progressive / extreme metal, country, rap, punk. These headphones can definitely accommodate my taste range. --CONSTRUCTION-- Good, sturdy construction. The metal frame headband is what I was looking for in affordable Over The Ear headphones since my old headset band was plastic and snapped. My only issue after a year is my left rear hinge broke out of the socket. Not a big problem the way it broke, because whenever it pops back out of the hole I just kinda put it back in and the tension keeps it in there. The ear pads are comfortable! I don't get that ear-wear fatigue with these things. They're snug on my head and don't sag. --MIC-- The mic works well, seems to pick up my voice relatively well even positioned away from my face. Recording through Audacity, I didn't hear much if at all any background noise despite my office being directly under my heating system. --CONCLUSION-- These things are powerhouses for <$30. Obviously, you can pay more to get more range and likely have a normal setup and listening experience. To be fair, I'm a little cheap so naturally I just try to make do with what I have - and I definitely did with these. If you're like me, not a complete audiophile but somewhat concerned with trying to have the best listening experience, then these will do wonderfully fine. Really. I'm almost considering not even going through the effort of using the warranty to potentially take care of the broken hinge because their performance is good enough that I'd overlook what is quite frankly a minimal issue anyways. If it completely breaks, I spend another $30 instead of $200 and I know what to expect! Really great value for the performance it gives you. If these are pretty good themselves, I'm interested in trying their SG600 Pro at some point. Thanks Senzer for a really good priced headset :) Specs for those interested, since I didn't seem to find them in the listing: Impedance: 21ohms +/- 15% Sensitivity: 110 +/- 3dB Freq Range: 20Hz - 20KHz Phase: L/R Phase Congruency Input: 20mW (Max: 50mW) Mic (uni-directional): Freq: 100Hz-10kHz) Signal-noise ratio: ≥58dB at 1KHz ... show more

  • Actually Excellent for the Price! Actually Excellent for the Price!
Color: Black
So I have Corsair Virtuoso headsets which are rated highly on all website for being one of the best wireless headsets. I broke mine so I needed a headset until my warranty replacement arrived. I also needed a back up if I forgot to charge them. So a friend had a giveaway on IG for a SENZER SH500 and I won! So I got them super fast as per Amazon usual. The box is small and was thinking it would not be up to snuff. I WAS WRONG!!!! I opened them up and the looked like my shooting headset which are Walker’Razor Slim! So they look great and since they look like my real gun shooting headsets. I put them on and they are comfy and not tight like most headsets since they are adjustable. The mic is nice and long. So it actually can be adjusted to meet needs regarding distance to your mouth. In a nutshell, the SG500s are comfy! So they pass the looks and comfort. The sound was surprisingly good! I play COD and am a monster in the game. I can hear footsteps, ambient noise and the clarity is pretty good. Now the Corsair Virtuosos sound better but hey are also 6X more expensive coming in between $150 and $200 depending if you get them on sale. The sound is neutral unlike Logitech G935 which I also owned (I have owned all the top gaming headsets) which have too much bass or the Steelseries Arctis 7 which are neutral but have a higher pitched sound. These are spot on for the price. Music and movies also great but an an App with EQ settings would have been clutch but these are plug and play amd sound good what they are. So they are good. Not as good as the Corsairs which have an app and EQ control but the price difference is huge. The mic is also pretty good and moat people say it sounds better than tthe Corsair Virtuoso. I say this because I ised to get complaints re my moc sounding small but I do net any mic complains with the SG500. Huge win for this relatively inexpensive headset. The cable is long as that is the drawback. These are wored and my Virtuoso is wireless. However I don’t need to charge these. Overall, I like this headset and I like them so much my replacement Corsair Virtuosos are still in the box a month later…Yes, the SENZER I SG500. are so good my pricier headset is still in a box unopened. Speaks volumes. Only drawback is there is no app and that it is corded. However SG500 perform so well I kinda wished I never spent so much on a headset. These are way cheaper and at $24 how can you go wrong!?!? I highly suggest getting these as a primary headset and definitely as a back! Based on how they sound and perform they are a better value than some of the more expensive brands and worth the savings! ... show more

  • Now I can record my classes and enjoy my music! Now I can record my classes and enjoy my music!
Color: Black
I don't normally give reviews of the products that I buy. However, these headphones have surprised me and to fair I think I have to do it. I want to clarify that I am very annoying when buying something. I read different reviews, I watch a lot of videos on Youtube to compare products and get an idea of how it works and also know the pros and cons. I was looking for a product that wasn't that expensive, but wasn't really cheap either. So at AMAZON's suggestion, I stumbled upon the SENZER SG500. I immediately started researching and followed my pre-purchase protocol. I read the reviews, looked up its features, and apparently the product had everything I was looking for. After careful consideration, I decided to give the SENZER SG500 a try and I must say I have no regrets. After a couple of weeks of wearing the SENZER SG500 every day, here are my comments. I usually teach online so I needed a product that wouldn't kill my ears (Yes, I have big ears) after two or three hours and the ear pads are so well designed you don't even notice them. They're soft and they adapt themselves to the shape of your head, but more importantly, after a couple of hours, your ears thank you for how great they feel. The weight is another thing that surprises me, they are very light and sometimes you forget that you are using them. The cable is very well designed. It has a coating made of some kind of sintetic cloth, which is very difficult to break. Integrated into the cable, we find a small device that allows you to control both the volume and mute the microphone. And this is appreciated by me, because sometimes you just want to mute the microphone without having to do it on the device you are using (my laptop). And speaking of the microphone, it captures the sound with great quality. My students listen to me without problems and I can tell the difference in the new audios and tutorials that I recorded in the last days from the previous ones. I am aware that we are talking about a product that is designed for gaming, but this product can be used in other environments, such as a virtual classroom, video calls, recording, and even listening to music. As for the latter, I think it was what surprised me the most. It has such a clear sound that sometimes you think that the music is coming from outside and not from the SENZER SG500 itself. The basses are incredible and is never distorted. Always loud and clear. And I'm used to listening to music with good quality equipment, because sometimes I work at a local radio station with a friend. Another aspect that I like is that they can be folded and are easy to transport. If I had to describe my overall experience with the SENZER SG500, I have to give them a 5/5. At least in my case and two weeks using the product, it meets all my expectations. If you ask me about something negative and I don't know whether to call it a negative, it has to be that I tried the product on my cell phone and although it is true that they sound quite good, the volume is low compared to when I use them on my laptop. I can attribute it to the fact that the sound output from my cell phone is not of quality or that it does not have the correct power to really exploit the potential of the SENZER SG500. But that's probably my phone. Now if you're going to use them for what they were designed for, you won't regret it. ... show more

  • I mean, what you expect for such an inexpensive headset?
Well, first things first. It is very inexpensive compared to other headsets. Especially for the performance. Obviously, with it being so inexpensive, it's not going to have the best of everything, but it does do well for its price range. The surround sound isn't as immersive as you would think or want. It's either left, right or both. You don't get the feel of the sound being behind you, in front of you, below you or above you like some more expensive headsets. The sound quality itself isn't bad. The sound quality actually surprised me. Not the best audio, but for the price, its actually really good. I was expecting sound quality from like early 2000's. The mic though, is probably the worst part of the headset. When I game with my friends, I'm practically making love to my mic for my friends to even hear me. Even with a mic booster maxed out. The comfort of the ear cups isn't too bad. They are soft and I love the magnetic feature. But they are a little smaller. Lucky for me, I have smaller ears. But even with my smaller ears, my ears are already touching the top and bottom of the ear cups. So if you have a bit bigger ears, it might be uncomfortable for you. The size of the head set, fits my head perfectly at its maxed size. So people with a bigger head, keep that in mind too. I'm 5'5" so if you want to get a general idea of my head portion. ... show more
