  • Machine works perfectly. Any issues Ive had have always been human error.
Size: 48Pink
So honestly Ive been looking into getting one of these for a good while but every single one of them had poor reviews or actually valid complaints and to be honest I was worried about getting a peice of garbage. But it works great in the last month Ive had it. Ive made over 20 hats and other products with it and not had any issues other than ones Ive caused myself. Honestly the only complaint I have is its not super sturdy but even thats not been a big deal and has had 0 impact on the product and how it works. Yeah it drops stitches now and then but Ive found its always, always been my own error/ stupidity due to using the wrong tension or accidentally missing weaving the yarn in and out at the start and not the machines fault. A tip Ive found for people who eventually buy this is to use the middle tension most. It works the best while the other tensions are most likely to drop stiches and for the loosest tension I found I dont care much for how loose the yarn woven gets to be for my specific projects but Im sure others may like the look more than me as there isnt really anything wrong with it. My last tip is watch for the first 10 rows very closely as if you go to fast or crazy it will drop stiches so just keep a steady pace and treat the machine well and it works perfectly. ... show more

  • great for beginners
Size: 48Pink
a lot of people have a lot to say about this. i have had no issues at all. i will say the traction little thingy that holds the yarn isn’t the best so ive just been holding it by hand and had no issues. i have used merino wool, mohair, and other natural yarns and they have all worked perfectly. all different sizes with no issues. you just have to pay attention to make sure it’s all going in well especially with thinner yarns. the knit looks great i made some arm warmers with it and using the machine was the easiest and less time consuming part of the project. it took me a few tries to figure out how to actually work it but it was a breeze after that. the package also came with yarn needles and a little crochet hook. the crochet hook sucks but the needles are perfect. also came with some waste yarn which i have used and been happy with. only annoying thing is when using panel it doesn’t count the panels for you so i’ve been counting in tens and writing it down in my notes app for larger projects. ... show more

  • No instructions but otherwise fine
Size: 40 Pink
This did not come with any instructions for assembly or use, but otherwise worked fine. Doesn’t really work well for medium 4 weight yarn so definitely use a lighter weight

  • Go straight to Youtube
Size: 48Pink
I've been eyeing this machine for years and finally took the plunge. I was also looking at the much more expensive and better reviewed Addi machine, but decided to go with this one. It's been a couple days since it arrived, and here are my suggestions for you: 1. It may look easy, but there is a serious learning curve to this machine. I'm no expert knitter, but I'm certainly not a beginner, and this one took me several hours of practicing to get the hang of. This comes with several skeins of practice yarn and you should absolutely use them before you dive into your stash. 2. Don't rely on the instruction manual. Like the title says, go to Youtube, or Sentro's website for tutorials. 3. People in the reviews have complained about dropped stitches and they're not wrong---but the more you get used to the machine and keep it stabilized, the less it happens. Still, learn how to fix dropped stitches with the crochet hook before you dive in. 4. Bulky yarn won't work on this machine. Worsted weight and under is best. 5. If you're working on a flat panel, cast on starting with the second to last peg. You'll need to crank slightly past it to ensure the yarn slips under the lip and can loop back around the first stitch when you start the next row. Overall, with patience, this thing is definitely worth the money. I've already finished a scarf with it. Good luck with your projects! ... show more

  • Broke after four uses 😖
I was able to make the three hats pictured and another one before the machine started jamming and dropping stitches randomly. I still tried to make just a simple tube and no matter how careful or slow I went, the machine jammed. I was using the same yarn as I did for the other hats so it couldn’t be that. The counter never worked accurately so you will have to count your rows some other way. The suction cups do not work either so you will be holding it down with one hand as you crank the machine. I was able to put better quality suction cups on it but that was a separate purchase. If you intend to use this for regular crafting, try another seller/brand. I don’t have the original box to return so I’d likely not get a refund as has happened with another broken item I returned. If you’re thinking of this as a serious hobby, skip this one. If you’re wanting to do this to sell at craft fairs, look into a used brand name machine or start saving for a new one. The machine came with yarn that you can use to make projects. I didn’t love the quality so I used it as waste yarn. I did not open the pom maker that came with the machine so can’t comment on that. Would be zero stars but I guess it made four very expensive hats so one star. ... show more

  • Needles are fragile
Size: 40Pink
I wish there were better detailed videos to learn how to use this, how to fix dropped stitches. The quality of the machine is so-so, keeping the legs down while turning is challenging and the needles are fragile. I got a replacement, then ended up returning it and getting an Addi Express which is much better quality. ... show more

  • This is the one_better than the expensive one
Size: 48Pink
Bought this for my uber creative teen who used to make everyone beanies by hand. So much love and effort would go into them. Enter this awesome piece of equipment! Now we get to be creative with multiple threads and designs, and the beanies are beautifully done in a flash. To be clear this isn't professional use but I don't see why it couldn't be for those who desire that. I read previous reviews about the suction to the work surface and found that to be accurate, it doesn't provide great suction, however, it really doesn't need to, and has been working out so great without it. The savings you get vs. the expensive one of those will give you room to rig your own stabilizer. I will also mention that I bought a motorized adapter so there would have been no need to crank it but when we tested both, hand cranking it was easier and offers more control so you don't skip stitches, and get to enjoy it more, so I recommend just buying this as is. I highly HIGHLY recommend this, rarely do you get such a bang for the buck in creativity, fun, and making gifts that have been a hit for anyone who receive one. ... show more

  • Happy Cranking!
Size: 48Pink
I am really enjoying the Sentro 48 needle. After watching some videos on how to use it I was cranking out hats (search "circular knitting machine" or "Addi Express king size"- it's a different manufacturer but techniques are the same). The size ranges fit child to average adult (my head measures 22" and they fit my comfortably). My goal is to use up some 50+ pounds of yarn for charity knits. There are a lot of free tutorials available for more than just hats or scarves so don't feel like you're limited to making only 2 things. To give an idea on how easy it is to use I had taken my machines to teach a friend's child how to use it. After basic instruction and telling her how many rows to count to she had made herself a hat. While she was working several other children asked questions and in no time each one had picked out yarn and was able to make themselves a hat in 30 minutes or less. The row counter on mine isn't reliable. It will stick and not count rows accurately. This wasn't a deal breaker since I have the Sentro 40 needle and it does not have a row counter. Manually counting the rows on the Sentro 48 needle is pretty easy as it makes a distinctive sound when passing the starting needle. Tips: *Test the machine before starting a project. Set it to T (tube) and make sure you can turn the handle clockwise (away from you) without any issue. Do this in P (panel) mode as well, making sure the machine stops at the correct pin before you reverse. It should run smoothly with very light clicking noises. *Do Not over tighten the screws that attach the legs. There is a noticable gap (see last picture) between the slot three screws go in and the base machine. If you over tighten it will most likely break the plastic. *The suction cups stick best to a smooth surface. Whenever possible use a surface that doesn't wobble. *Utilize the yarn tensioner wherever possible. Having some tension has noticeably decreased the amount of skipped stitches. ... show more
