What a great vocal mic! It integrates so seamlessly with Garage Band for iPad Pro - just plug in to your iPad and plug your headphones into the back of the mic. What I love most is the superior clarity (zero hiss) as well as the headphone volume/mic gain/and device level control that is at your fingertips. You can very easily dial in the perfect level right there on your microphone. Construction of mic is superb - solid metal and very well made. Well worth the price - I feel like I have received a great value. Will buy another soon, with plans to use it for a future podcast project.     • I've been using Sennheiser mics professionally for years, this one does NOT disapoint!
Style: Streaming Set
As an audio engineer for 20+ years in the heyday of rock (80s-90s) I used Sennheiser in both the studio and live. They have a reputation as being 'delicate', but I found with reasonable care, they did well for years on the road. This mic was purchased for our podcast work and for the dozens of Zoom meetings I have each month. It set up fast, worked immediately, and has continued to function flawlessly now for months. It's a bit sensitive to 'body noise' so an isolation mount is really required (get on the stick here Sennheiser, I had to adapt an aftermarket mount. You should have one available!!) and I used the AT2020 mount from Youshares, which works well. Careful the mount you choose does not obstruct the knobs on the front of the mic, but otherwise any mount that accepts a 1.5" mic will work. Great mic for voice, and the arm is pretty nifty too! ... show more

The mic is great and is plug-and-play. It doesn't require anything to operate but a USB-C connection (it will still work well using a USB-A adapter.) I immediately received compliments on my voice quality. The included boom arm works really well. Adjustments are easy and it holds the mic solidly.

When buying the boom arm, pop filter combo for $149 the boom arm is going to be super cheap. I don't have a large deck so the range is just fine. The only problem is that out of the box you will only get the 3ft USBC to USBC cable and will have to source a longer cable if you want to use the arm. If you are not far from your phone or laptop filming a video the 3ft cable it just fine. ... show more

I spent hours researching mics, and the Sennheiser Profile will do an excellent job for 99% of users. The "pro" users may have different or specific needs, but for most users trying to do voice overs or using it for teleconferencing, these are phenomenal.

I primarily chose this microphone because of it's size - it's small enough to keep on an arm right in front of you without being obnoxious. My Blue Yeti was so big I needed to keep it to the side of my monitors for example. From there I have been very happy with the sound quality. It's truly plug-and-play, and no software is required at all. Many people have complimented my sound quality and compared me to a professional podcaster, so I bought a second one for my work computer. I recommend pairing this with the Elgato arm. I also love that it's simply USB-C and I didn't need to worry about getting any additional hardware for XLR. Unless you're doing truly professional recording, you really don't need to spend the extra money on an XLR setup. Personally I can hardly tell the difference between this mic and an Shure XLR but I'm sure a true audio professional would care more. I run this microphone through the NVidia Broadcast app to clean up the background noise and I get compliments all the time on work calls about my voice quality. Highly recommend for a simple, plug-in-play microphone. Final note: The stand it comes with is super basic - I would highly recommend getting a microphone arm. But I'm not going to ding a cheap, high-quality mic because it comes with a cheap stand. ... show more
