  • Great alternative to SM58
Style: E835 3-Pack Pattern Name: Microphone
I like these better than SM58s because of how they are EQ'd. Running the E835s through a Mackie Thump setup, I don't really have to EQ the vocals much or at all. They have been great for band rehearsals and live shows. I especially like using them when doing sound for other bands; let their hot beer breath steam up these instead of my band's mics. Feedback rejection has been good. Very durable; dropped several times. I only use these on vocals, so I cannot say how they are for instrument mic'ing. Though I would only use them for instruments if I had to. ... show more

  • thrown and abused in so many ways and they sound great. I also still use them for Live audio ...
Style: E835 3-Pack Pattern Name: Microphone
I bought this 3 pack in 2004 for Karaoke Gigs in Bars and Private events , they have been dropped , thrown and abused in so many ways and they sound great. I also still use them for Live audio for singing events , I have been asked many times of what types of Mics I use. One thing you should know.... There is no switch to turn them on/off and that is great when someone like me or a sound guy is in control of that. I always announce I turn the mics on and off at the board so there's no confusion if a switch is turned off. I've been to many of my sons school events where there is a switched mic who someone turns off, then the next presenter and sound guy play tag of on or off.... Also the singer must speak directly into the mic , (not over the top at a right angle) as if your eating a banana is the best description held within 1 to 2 inches. The sound is Noticeably smoother the the shure 58's . Shure 58 Has more feedback sensitivity then the Sennheiser E835 Microphone compared in my experiences of gigs. ... show more

  • Great Warm Vocal Mic
Style: E835 3-Pack Pattern Name: Microphone
I am a die hard SM58 guy. Since I needed more vocal mics I decided to give these a try after reading the reviews. Love them and the bands I've used them with have loved them. If you already own some 58s I have found these to be very compatible on stage, no need to overwork your eq to match them tonally. I am not convinced that they are less likely to feedback than a 58, but certainly no more likely. If you love everything about a 58 except for the extreme proximity effect then buy these. Work exceptionally well with vocalists who sing close to the mic. UPDATE: After testing 3 of these a little harder I have decided to replace all my SM58s with e835s. I recently purchased another 3 pack and these will now be by "go to" mics for vocals. ... show more

  • We now have a total of 9 of these mics ...
Style: E835 3-Pack Pattern Name: Microphone
We now have a total of 9 of these mics. They are the go-to mic for all of the vocalists in our worship band. This is not a mic to use to try to mic a choir, this mic should be held very close to the mouth, it should not be expected to pick up from very far away. As a matter of fact, when we get someone not accustomed to using a mic and it is held far away, the sound very quickly dies out. Used correctly, vocalists sound warm and natural. Adding a little reverb, echo, or large hall effect makes the sound even richer. ... show more

  • Sennheiser. That's all you need to know..
Style: E835 3-Pack Pattern Name: Microphone
It's been decades since I mixed sound but the formula I used years ago was to put good transducers at either end and trust what I heard, and that formula still works. I first put these in front of three vocalists, only one of whom was accomplished. The mics allowed me to blend the two less-refined voices with the seasoned veteran's and it pulled off very well. I even had to press one of them into micing an acoustic guitar on the spot and it served that purpose without blinking. There are more expensive vocal mics out there but I see no reason to spend more than what these Sennheisers set me back, why should you? ... show more
