  • Sounds Great - But not a replacement for an AVR and separates.
This sound bar is incredible! Sounds great! Lots of volume and clarity. Ambeo is fairly good for 3D audio processing. And this is coming from someone who is using DIRAC in their vehicle and their main home theater room. You will need a separate sub for this soundbar. Yes, this will not be a replacement for AVR home theater set-ups. We use this soundbar in the bedroom paired with a REL T5/X 8 inch woofer. If I had buy the sub over again, I would use a SVS 3000 mini. Keep in mind that this sound bar is not going to really give you true 5.1.4, but it does an outstanding job of trying to do it. So if space is a limiting factor for choosing this over a true AVR experience, this would be the one to get! ... show more

  • Awesome
I had reservations about buying. Glad I did. This is a game changer. It linked up to my LG smart tv with ease. Able to use my LG remote only. Lovely

  • Initial Rating - First Day usage
This is an initial rating as hopefully my issue will be resolved. I powered on the Soundbar, updated the firmware, completed the room calibration and then connected my devices. I am having an issue where the sound cuts out and instead and I hear a loud, constant buzzing sound. This has occurred while using my PS5, PS4, Cable box and Nintendo switch. I've confirmed the TV settings are set to the correct audio out settings and I've also verified the same on the consoles. The TV I'm using is a 3 week old LG CX 65" OLED. I have the Soundbar and the TV connected via the eARC ports and I connected the consoles directly to the Soundbar. I've also tested having the consoles connected to the HDMI 2.1 ports on the TV but the issue still occurs. I've tried using different HDMI cables (The PS5 cable, the Sennheiser cable as well as a Zeskit Maya 8K 48Gbps Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable). I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong but from all accounts the connectivity is pretty straight. The sound works initially but then after a couple minutes the buzzing occurs. If I can somehow get this issue resolved I will revisit this rating and amend. ... show more

  • The perfect soundbar!
I’ve never really considered myself an audiophile but ai buy things to last and want quality. I had an older Yamaha receiver and surround setup, Klipsch sub, etc. Recently and because of covid (being stuck st home), I bought a new LG 65 CX TV, and XBOX Series X. Because I wanted an eARC connection and Dolby Atmos and full HDMI 2.1 passthrough to accomodate 4k and 120 fps, I scrapped my receiver and speakers for a soundbar and sub. Crazy right? I bought a Sennheiser Ambeo soundbar and SVS PB-1000 subwoofer. In a word, WOW! This blows away any soundbar and most 5.1.4 surround systems I’ve heard. Granted, true audiophiles will likely look down on this, but I must say, for the money, and granted, it’s not cheap, this is the best setup money can buy today. I have always liked having XM radio in the car and listending through a Burmester surround, but now I am loving music and movies and everything at home again. One negative is that when buying ‘bleeding edge’ there are lots of handshake issues with devices. I have painfully worked through them thankfully. ... show more

  • It's worth the price if your downgrading from a home theater or a stereo to a sound bar.
If you have a sound system and your significant other is sick of the speakers and electronics, this is the sound bar to buy. You’re going to need a sub. And the Ambio mic and setup will do a very good job of marrying them together. (I have a KEF RB 400 which works well with the bar.) Once you give it access to your home network, something you should not have to give it, you can set it up fairly easily. I got around networking it to my wi-fi by running an Ethernet cable to it. My two complaints are these: the side firing speakers should be aimed 45° to the back, not the front, to widen the sound stage, and it should have at least two tweeters rear firing on each end to improve "presence". The final demerit is for the remote: seemingly every remote on the planet has the volume on the left side of the face of the remote, and the channels or whatever on the right side, for some odd reason Sennhiser knows better than this, which can get frustrating since the reason we buy a sound bar is for the sound, not a memory training device. ... show more

  • Great price. Good sound. Poor software
These are one of the best and biggest soundbar at the moment. They sound great in my condo. Setup was quick but firmware update was very difficult. My tip, after setting it up initially, download the latest firmware for ambeo max in sennheisers website and transfer it to a flash drive (fat format). Then manually update it in the soundbar by pressing setup for 5 seconds. These instructions are not found in the manual. After the update, you will have spotify connect, tidal and airplay 2 available; and all eq settings in the control app. This soundbar has a dedicated sub out which i use to connect to a rel. For the price, i think these are worth it. Other tips: recalibrate after the firmware update, set your tv audio out (arc) to bypass and bitstream to avoid any lip-sync issues. ... show more

  • Good, not great sound
I have mixed feelings about the SENNHEISER AMBEO Soundbar Max. While the audio quality is good, I don't think it justifies the high price tag. I was particularly interested in the Dolby Atmos feature for its 3D sound effect, but unfortunately, it hasn't lived up to my expectations. The soundbar is decent overall, but I haven't been blown away by its performance. ... show more

  • the best . hands down.
this is an amazing speaker. it sounds amazing. i have a 100k system at another house. this is as close as it gets in a sound bar. film is at least at 50% sound experience. this does it justice. for space and budget this does the best at matching a good large oled screen . thanks to sennheiser.
