For the most part, I really love these bulbs. They're easy to connect to and with well with Google Home. You can manage the brightness and colors, and, honestly, I love messing with my son by changing the color of his bulb from the other side of the house. The "MOOoommm" that emanates from him is funny as heck! The only frustration is when the power goes out, with a storm, for example. It really sucks if it's the middle of the night because when the power comes back on, every light that has one of these bulbs comes on. Then, you have to go through the process of reconnecting them individually. It's a real pain at 3am. Thankfully, the lights don't go out much. I would recommend the bulbs, but when the power goes out, walk around and physically turn the lights connected to these bulbs off manually so they don't all come back on at the same time when the power is restored. ... show more

    • Love the convenience but not not the setup.

My original lights were all set to go with Alexa. These you have to go to another website first and that's a real pain. Once the installation procedure is finished though, I do love the convenience of being able to just call out to my lights to turn on and off. I'm getting these for all over my house. Having them in the bedroom is great because when you get sleepy after reading you can just mumble Alexa shut the light off. Same thing to get up in the middle of the night. Having them in the stairway and in the laundry room is wonderful because my hands are usually full and I can just call out. I do wonder what the neighbors must think though when I'm alone and they hear me talking to my light fixtures! Well worth getting these for safety reasons alone. ... show more

    • Not as bright as it says
The light say it is equivalent to 100watts brightness. That is not correct. They all are the same as a 60 watt. I have one of each side by side and they are the same. I took one of my different Lowes brands of LED 100w bulbs that are very bright and compared the two and not the same. I really needed it to be the 100w brightness for some house decor for guests coming over. I guess it is better then nothing. Definitely not as bright as 100watts!!! ... show more

After spending about an hour trying to connect these to my Alexa, I was ready to return. Then I tried reading the instructions and got all 4 connected in about 5 minutes. The app is easy to set up and pairing with my Alexa was a breeze. These work so much better than the Phillips I previously had. After 30 minutes of trying couldn’t get lightbulb to connect to network “Sengled WiFi” so can’t use as a smart bulb just an overpriced normal bulb. Update: the bulbs in the Sengled box were not Sengled bulbs resulting in the lack of connection. Appears someone opened the boxes and replaced the bulbs with different brands. Submitted request for replacement package and the actual bulbs worked with super quick and easy setup. Updating to 4 stars (keeping 1 off for original shipment being incorrect). ... show more

    • Bright bulbs with some minor issues
These bulbs have great color, and a very good app. But the bulbs lose connection sometimes and have to be reset. This is a timely process but it has only happened a couple of times in the last 2 years.

    • They are not as bright as they are supposed to be
I bought these bulbs because they are of 1500 lumens 100 watt equivalent, but I have other smart bulbs from other vendors which are of 1100 lumens 75 watts equivalent, but they are brighter than these ones. Alexa integration seems to be slower than the other brand bulbs. In the good side, these bulbs have some cool effects, mostly for kids. ... show more

    • Subjective Impression
Subjective Impression .... That's why I waited to review these bulbs. I wanted to see how well they perform long term. The first thing I should mention, in fairness to the bulbs, is my internet/wifi is sketchy. I have a100 year old house, solid interior walls. That might affect what I'm going to say about the bulbs. I also have Charter service and they cut service weekly for "maintenance". That could also impact the bulbs. Finally, the Sengled app leaves much to be desired. The bulbs are great, easy install, good lighting and they easily interface with Alexa. As long as the connection is good, Alexa is a smoothe operator. Sometimes, most often, I use verbal Alexa commands. When I don't want to wake my dog up, I use the quick access Alexa light panel on my phone. (If I wake my dog he thinks I should give him treats, midnight snacks, and he has to go out to potty) The internet/wifi interruptions cause a bulb disconnect and I have to reset most of them. That takes more time than I want to give a bulb(s). Sometimes the bulbs completely back out and I have to delete them and re-install them, name them again and hope the connection holds. That takes waaay too much time for almost a dozen bulbs that I have connected. The app makes an easy install but the app management is messy. For instance, an installed bulb page doesn't give options that you may want, like a quick reconnect and if you create room groups, it's difficult to undo. Suggest making your groups via Alexa. Use the app to install, select the Alexa control and do everything else in the Alexa app. Supposedly the bulb should last 25,000 hours. In doing my math on my hall ceiling bulb based on typical usage, it should have lasted about 2 years. That bulb has been in service for 11 months and it's currently lighting at about 50% (for 2 weeks now). So maybe that 25,000 hours is 100% for awhile, 50% for awhile, and 25% for awhile, continuing to dim until it dies. I expect the 25k hours to be at 100% for at least 2 years based on the usage of the hall light. Problem is, by the time you know this, return options are expired and you don't know until it starts dimming down. I guess it would be the same with any brand. My hall light is used daily but for very short periods, like filling dog's water bowl or doing security checks at night, less than 10 minutes at a time. The den light, installed at the same time as the hall light, is used for longer times and is still performing at 100%. Apparently the longevity of the bulbs is subjective. Based on my experience, I like the bulbs as long as there are no wifi glitches. Regarding this brand or any other brand, how long they last at 100% is anyone's guess. I wanted to review this bulb because I think it's fair to share how it has performed overall. I can't say it's any better or worse than another brand. ... show more
