  • A couple of tricky assembly details but so far an excellent product.
Item Shape: 6.2 x 10.2 FT
All the parts and pieces arrived in great condition. The paint job of the frame material is outstanding. Some of the assembly instructions are a bit vague but the video really helps. I’m impressed with all the added cross bracing and the thickness of the frameThank you for your email and your interest in customer satisfaction. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this greenhouse. I do have some suggestions to help future customers. I added 2”X8” pressure treated wood to act as a base and gain additional height. I leveled and squared the wood prior to assembly. As you can see I used the base assembly to attach the base to the wood. I drove wood stakes into the ground to anchor the wood and greenhouse firmly. I preassembled the gable ends and sides including installing the polycarbonate panels in my garage to minimize the chance of loosing parts and to have a smooth flat surface on which to work. I also built and installed the door onto the gable (very easy) and prebuilt the 2 vent assemblies. Time for pre-assembly working alone was 6 hours total. This included unboxing and identifying all parts. Your labeling and packaging is outstanding. Below are my observations after completing the assembly of the greenhouse; The gable assembly is tricky. more details on installing would be helpful. When installing the RG04 L & R steps 6 & 7 on page 13 the detail of passing the bolt through the hole first and then slipping the bolt head into the channel of the RG30L & R. the same is true when installing the connecting pieces BJ05. This is also true in a number of other assemblies. Installing the vent assemblies Page 22 step 6 is very unclear. A photo and description of the process saying that the vent assemblies slide in from the ends of the RO183 would be helpful. The roof panels P08 would be better if 1/2” longer to get a better overlap of the gutters and be tighter to the top ridge RO183. The R03’s also appear a bit short. I’m going to push them tight to the ridge RO138 and then push in the sides to see if that will solve the P08 length issue. On page 23 the I’m concerned the screws and washer will compress the polycarbonate panels. I am considering adding a spacer to reduce the compression of the P08 and the SGO383/384. Assembly time working alone was 10 hours this included building, squaring , leveling and driving stakes into the ground for the wood bass. My wife assisted for 3 hours . Total time was 19 man-hours. The dog was also a big help Am I happy I selected your greenhouse kit ? Absolutely. • Tricky to put together
Item Shape: 6.2 x 8.2 Feet
The engineering of this greenhouse is clever, but it is finicky to actually assemble. This is not helped by supplying the parts with a small hard-to-read booklet. The video online is much better, but goes at a rapid pace so you have to stop it frequently to figure out the exact orientation of parts. The sections were however very well packaged so there could be no confusion, if you assembled it in the order directed. There was not one part or bolt missing! The front and rear were quite challenging to assemble as they have triangular upper polycarbonate sheets which have to fit to the rectangular lower sheets with very tight, horizontal plastic joints! You can use WD40 in the metal grooves to help ease the polycarbonate sheets down. In one or two cases I had to prize open the grooves a bit with a wide blade screwdriver. There are two things to really know ahead of ordering this. I found NO customer service number, email or address in the booklet and couldn't even find anything online. So, you are on your own if you hit a problem. Secondly, once it was all constructed, a couple of days later it rained and there was a huge amount of leakage from the side panel below the gutter joints. I will have to caulk absolutely every panel joint once the weather is again dry for a few days. One final area for improvement (as well as better directions and a customer service number to call for help) is the roof window. The top of it slides along a slot on the ridge. That works well but there is no 'stop' point so every time you open the window it moves slightly right or left and then won't fit properly when you lower it. I solved this by going to a hardware store and getting two 1/4" metal rods (one is two feet and the other three) and slid them into the grooves and glued the ends to push up against the top edge of the window and hold it firmly in place so as not to allow any lateral movement. I actually enjoyed putting this together, but it took a lot of time and patience-approximately three four-hour days! As you can see, I built a base with a wooden floor seated on a frame of 4x2 treated timber. This must be very carefully measured and leveled otherwise the greenhouse aluminum base won't sit on it properly. The aluminum base has legs to anchor in concrete which I did before raking the surrounding gravel up to the base. My wife and I don't know how long this will last, but with its base it seems very sturdy. The panels could blow out but probably won't if you caulk everything! ... show more
