I bought this to put up my clothes line. I am using 4x4 posts. I am impressed. Used a regular drill. Worked perfectly. I have only done one side so far and it was easy to use. I did a test fit with a piece of scrap and it fit perfectly. I did widen the hole a bit because I am going to use concrete and that was easy. I was going to spend a lot more for a gas powered auger but I gave this a shot and what I paid and saved it was worth it.

The 3/8" drive is the weak point of this auger. I was drilling my 2nd hole in my Texas dirt when it twisted and snapped off. Metal isn't hardened, maybe this is a One Off so I am getting a replacement but if that one breaks too I am going to be very upset as this is what the product description says..... Quote.... The media could not be loaded. THIS WORKED GREAT! I used an old, electrical drill as the ground is not soft and we have lots of roots. The auger did get caught up in roots but did not yank my arm off. It just slowed to a stop. I cleared the roots and pressed on. Put up 14 signs using it and was done in less than a day. I highly recommend it.
