Great watch for the money!

The fit works well on a smaller wrist, even with the larger case diameter. The band is a little thin and the hole spacing could be tighter for a better fit. But, it's also trivially replaceable. The watch itself is fantastic. Holds time, no problems. Watch is solid and feels it. The automatic winding is flawless. The crown settings for date and day are easy (position one - wind one way for one, the opposite way for the other). The crown at 4 o'clock doesn't mess with my wrist at all. Lume is great. One thing worth mentioning is the dial. It has a slightly reflective/sunburst effect that changes depending on the light. At first, this threw me off because it can look more “flashy” than a pure tool watch. But after wearing it for a while, it really grew on me and now I actually like that it has a bit of personality instead of being completely flat. I also switched to a black rubber strap, which made a big difference. It sits lower on the wrist, feels more comfortable than a NATO, and gives the watch a cleaner, more cohesive look. a very versatile, reliable, and good-looking watch that gets better the more you wear it. ... show more

Checks every box for quality and function

Excellent quality. The Seiko version of the "NATO" strap is extremely comfortable. Visibility of the hands for time-telling solved my poor vision issues. It seems to be losing ~ +/- 7 seconds a day...not bad for a watch in this price range and all I need for accuracy - easily adjusted for every few weeks. If you require better accuracy, buy a 40.00 Casio quartz watch. I prefer a mechanical watch that will run for forty years (at least) without needing a battery and paying 600.00+ for +/- 1 second a day accuracy in a mechanical watch is crazy IMO. The ability to manually wind the watch negates the need for a winder. If I wind it 25 times in the morning and the evening - it's always running. ... show more

First Seiko, automatic. I just received it so this is just first impressions. This is beautiful and easy to read. Great contrast with the black and white on the dial. The bezel has sturdy feel with nice clicks. Love the clear case back. Since this is my first automatic, it’s nice to see the movement. The nato strap provided is not too stiff so it’s comfortable. Doesn't keep time - that's important for a watch

Doesn't keep time right out of the box. This watch increases at least 5-7 minutes per day. Very disappointed that Seiko can not do better on a new watch.

Beautiful!

This is a beautiful watch! It's also my first mechanical watch, and it's a great one to start with. I really like the NATO band. I haven't had any problems with it running down just by wearing it daily. I find that I lose about 10 to 15 seconds a day. Every couple of days I just set the time again. I'm very happy with this watch and I'm glad I got it. My watch didn't come with a manual, but I highly recommend going to Seiko's site and downloading it. It gives you a lot of great information. It's how I learned all the features and how to set it. For instance, the day changes around midnight, but the day of the week changes completely by around 4:00am. It has to run through the bilingual day of the week before reaching the next day of the week at around 4:00am. I also didn't know you should keep mechanical watches away from magnets because they can get magnetized and lose accuracy. There's a ton of good information like that in the official manual from Seiko. You're looking for the one for the 4R36 caliber (that's the movement identifier). ... show more

The seller did a good job of sending the watch. The watch's original box was sent inside a tough packaging box. I'm worried that it might get damaged. As for the watch, it's perfect I love it. People who have complaints on the watch do not know how to read instructions, do not know how to care for a mechanical watch, and or they don't know how to use a mechanical watch. keeps track of time very well and does not lose time like people mention on the comments. I imagen it does lose SECONDS per day like any time keeping piece but for the price this is a great mechanical watch. A great buy in my personal opinion. ... show more
