  • Subtle distinguished value
One of the least expensive watches in my collection but not at all embarrassed by the comparison. Seiko has managed a tasteful and elegant yet unfussy dress watch. The light blue dial is as calming as a summer sky and the slender leaf hands elegant in bright silver. The downturned lugs and supple bracelet make for a very comfortable fit on my 6 3/4” wrist. Love the neatness of the butterfly clasp as well. Date window is placed on the 6 o’clock (my favorite position) and is even detailed with a silver border - nice detail. Even the contrasting sweeping second hand in iridescent deep blue is a tasteful choice. That Seiko can provide all of this in an AUTOMATIC with a sapphire crystal and exhibition case back for under $400 is an incredible value. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Seiko SRP53 Watch
I got this watch to replace an older Seiko Kinetic. I wanted a watch that was mechanical, automatic, and that had ability to be wound manually in the event it wasn't worn every day. I like the Seiko brand and decided I'd give this model a try. I'm happy with the fit - I did take it to a Seiko dealer to have the band adjusted. It has a few 1/2 sized links that allow for a customization of the fit. I have a medium size wrist so the watch case at ~42mm is a bit larger than I'm accustomed to with my older Kinetic at ~36mm. The case thickness is 11mm and the weight is noticeably heavier, I was concerned that this might bother me - but it's completely comfortable on my wrist and I don't really notice the increased size in wearing it. The workmanship is top notch, it is elegant, refined and not too flashy. So it's perfectly suited for either casual wear or dress. I like the textured very light blue face which appears at times either bluish or matte silver grey depending on the light. The dark blue steadily sweeping second hand really stands out in contrast with the stainless minute and hour hands that blend more into the background in some lighting but then with a slight shift of the wrist take on a higher contrast. The stainless steel band has a split style closure that is very easy to learn and comfortable. The crown is large and easy to operate whether winding ( which I do regularly) or setting, time or date. My only pet peeve is the date window which could have been a tad larger. Another caveat is to advise that unless you wear this watch daily, or give it a bit of a wind every day it is liable to stop. In which case you'll need to reset the time, etc. It is not a hassle for me to wind a watch occasionally. Compare that to a quartz movement watch which will require a battery replacement every 2 years, or a solar powered or kinetic watch which will require a rechargeable battery replacement less frequently but at a much higher cost and some down time for servicing. Lastly I have to comment on the price. I was surprised that I could get this Presage brand new (warranty eligible) through an Amazon dealer at about 25% below Seiko's list price of $525 and this is one with a sapphire crystal which much more scratch resistant. Would recommend! ... show more

  • Love this watch!
This watch looks amazing. I wear it to work almost everyday. The time accuracy sometimes gets a little off depending on the day, but it is well within the movement's marketed tolerances. I love how the textured dial is subtle but unique, and the color feels like it changes in different lighting and gives it different personalities. I would definitely recommend if you have your eye on this model (but also don't recommend because I don't want too many people to have the same watch as me :P). ... show more

  • Best Value Seiko. Great Buying Experience.
Won’t get too technical since most measurements and features are already online, but still worth mentioning how amazing it is to get sapphire at this price point. Another great bonus is that this watch isn’t as popular as the other presage models like SRPB41, but that’s exactly what I wanted, something a little unique but still in a recognizable model or collection. The light blue dial and subtle texture are a great combination. Buying this piece was easy, at a great price since it MSRPs north of $500. I also don’t mean to call other buyers liars, as they very well may have had a mishap or different experience, but my shipment came with Seiko papers, original box, and with the Seiko tag in what appears to be brand new, unworn condition. ... show more

  • Stunning Dial
I’ve been looking at the Seiko Presage lineup for awhile. Though the dials are stunning, for the price point, I was a bit hesitant on pulling the trigger on them since most of them had hardlex crystals but this was one that had a sapphire crystal which peaked my interest. The dial is stunning and the air brushed texture from the dial to the markers makes a beautiful cohesive look. I swapped out the bracelet for a black leather one and it made the light blue dial pop a little bit more — couldn’t be happier with it! I think this watch will have a very long run in my rotation ... show more

  • Great dial, cheap feeling strap
For $393, it's a great value automatic with a beautiful dial. The light blue pops in the evening under artificial light. The metal strap is very cheap feeling. It's too light (which can be nice) but there's too much play between the links. I swapped it out with a few straps and a black leather with white stitching really accentuates the baby blue. Would recommend this as a gift or first automatic at the price point. Movement is alright. Not the most accurate but again, at this price point - for the looks (dress watch/casual-semi professional work watch) - it's a great value. ... show more

  • Beautiful Watch
This is a beautiful watch. The box it came in had the original factory id labels covered with newer labels that correctly identified the contents and the sealing tape on the box bottom was broken. Additionally, the Seiko Owners Manual was missing and warranty card not filled out. There were other factory installed watch case and bracelet protection/wrapping techniques that indicated an opened box. After careful inspection the entire watch is flawless and original. No scratches or smudge marks were present on the watch to indicate it had been worn/used or tampered with. The owners manual can be downloaded from the Seiko website. ... show more
