It's doing pretty well for my watercress seedlings (a quarter- to half-inch layer over a paper towel liner in a seed sprouting tray). It stays sufficiently moist that I can leave it two or three days without worrying about it drying out. It's also a little chunky, which is probably fine? but was weird to deal with while planting tiny seedlings.

This stuff is very hydrophobic. You must keep it wet but not to wet that your seeds rot so its not ideal for beginners. Sks
