It is very handy, compact and not too heavy. The instructions are easy to understand. I recommend using ENERGIZER or DURACELL batteries. You will need to change them sooner than specified. I did in 3 months or biometrics dont work correctly

The media could not be loaded. I have been wanting to buy a medium sized safe for a few handguns and some valuables like our passports and such. I purchased this Moutec safe with fingerprint scanner. First of all it is a great size. Not too big, not too small. It can easily fit 3+ hand guns with more then enough room for important items on a completely different shelf. It came well packaged with bubble wrap and insulation. To the person that said “ Anyone can open this safe”. If you took the time to read the directions, it states that when it first arrives, anyones fingerprint can open the safe. You have to reset it to your finger print. That being said I installed the batteries and followed the instructions. I easily set up my thumb print ( multiple ways and described in the directions ) along with my pointer finger. I also set up my wife’s finger prints. It took less than a few mins if that. Works great every time with no issues. I set up a passcode as well. Again super simple to do. Just read the directions. It also comes with 2 emergency keys that you should hide and never leave in the safe. What also stood out to me was that they pre installed and small led light!! This was great thinking on their part !! I couldn’t be happier with this safe. It will serve us well for years to come knowing my handguns and important documents are safe and within reach at a finger print touch of a button. Great job Moutec !! ... show more

The safe looks adequate and on par with other similarly priced safes of this size. The instructions have all the misspellings you'd expect from a foreign product with sketchy quality controls. My confidence in the product is limited by my experience trying to register the safe for warranty protection. All the website addresses and links are dead. I've needed warranty support in the past for safes and it's not a good look that Amazon is selling a product with no customer or warranty support. ... show more

There are many ways to access this safe in case of an emergency. Item worked perfect out of the box. I only have had it for a couple days, but am impressed for the price it is good.

    • **Buyer Beware**
I trusted this safe as a Biometric alternative to the keypad (or key opening) method, (shame on me, shame on the company I trusted). Let's face it, if you ever need your firearm in a emergency, you need it fast, your hands may be shaking, sweating, you may not be thinking clearly in a panic, but you know and trust that your one registered finger is all you need for quick access. That's what I thought anyway. We had a terrible situation occur at home recently where a family member was able to access the safe with their fingerprint (which was NOT learned, nor authorized), remove the gun from the safe (and without a lot of further additional detail) pointed it at another family member in a threatening manner, the family member called 911 the Sherriff's department was dispatched and the gun handler went to jail on a domestic disturbance charge. Later I was asked by the Sherriff if this family member had access to the safe, I said "absolutely not", I trained the biometric sensor myself to my "one" finger and tested it, as well as countless times later, it always worked "every time". I realized later why it worked EVERY time. Following this incident, I did additional testing and learned that it would "unlock" on ANY finger, and that's how an un-authorized person gained access, a very dangerous situation could have been deadly. This safe should be designed to ONLY use the fingerprint REGISTERED, and all others should fail!!! This should be the default behavior, heck... fail the registered fingerprint even and force the safe owner to fall back to keypad, or even key method, but to allow "any" fingerprint to open the safe is simply irresponsible of the company and dangerous for the owner who may have no idea (as I did) that the safe can not be trusted!!! In defense of this company, and as more testing on my part is required, maybe I just have one of a few of the "lemon safes" they let out the door. But Please, Please, Please, test your safe thoroughly so you have complete confidence that it is operating as designed so this doesn't happen to you!!! As I look back at the times my beautiful Granddaughter was at our house and how easily she could have opened this safe if she happened to find it, it makes me so angry and disappointed that I ever trusted it as being secure. ... show more
